'Saturday Night Live' with Gwyneth Paltrow as host: Your opinion is desired.

'Saturday Night Live' with Jim Carrey and The Black Keys: Your opinion is desired.

Jim Carrey is hosting Saturday Night Live this week, with music act The Black Keys. Carrey’s go-for-broke physical comedy is always an asset on SNL, where sketches are sometimes saved by the performers’ reactions as much as by READ FULL STORY

Is anyone watching 'Blue Bloods' besides me?

It’s Friday, and there’s a rerun of Blue Bloods tonight, and at the risk of sounding like a no-life, I have to admit: If I’m in front of the TV when it airs, I’ll probably watch the rerun. That’s how much I like what Tom Selleck, Donnie Wahlberg, Bridget Moynahan, Will Estes, and READ FULL STORY

'Saturday Night Live' with Jeff Bridges, Eminem, and Lil Wayne: Your opinion is desired.

Jeff Bridges is hosting Saturday Night Live this week, with musical guests Eminem and Lil Wayne. As you can see from this promo, Bridges is promoting two movies, TRON: Legacy and True Grit. I think the Coen Brothers joke is funnier than the TRON one:

Bridges seems to be taking his hosting duties seriously enough that he was moved to shave his beard, presumably for maximum facial expressions during sketches:

I assume there’ll be parodies of both films, but I also hope SNL gives Eminem the opportunity to take part in some of the sketches. Em can certainly be poker-faced-amusing when he chooses to be, as he’s proven on SNL before.

What are you hoping for in this pre-Christmas SNL?

Comment away below, and then come back here early Sunday morning for my piping-hot fresh review of the show; thanks.

Four TV things to be thankful for on Thanksgiving weekend: Taylor Swift, 'Fringe,' Bristol Palin, and 'The Walking Dead'

Happy Thanksgiving! Here are a few things TV watchers can be thankful for:

1. Tonight’s TV special, Taylor Swift: Speak Now. Sure, it’s mostly a promotional hour plugging her new album, but like everything else Taylor Swift does, it’s both commercial and charming, shrewd and clever. It includes everything from musical performances to taking trips with Taylor to a Target store to buy her own album (added bonus: no Kristen Wiig guest appearance as an annoying Target check-out line employee):

2. A new Fringe episode. Yeah, okay, it’s not until next Thursday, but you can watch the past three episodes on Hulu now, this weekend, to prepare for Dec. 2’s big, climactic, things-really-change episode, “Entrada,” in which the two Olivias will make desperation moves, a character will die, and READ FULL STORY
