Anderson Cooper is a self -important tool. This show won’t last more than a season.
I loved it! I like Anderson, his sexuality is his business. I also love Amy Winehouse. Good show! i’ll be watching
Terrible. Just terrible. The show and your article. And your photo. Whomp whomp!
I won’t watch just for the fact that I work and my dvr is already committed to other shows that I’d rather watch in the evening. Having said that, if I am home and he’s on I would probably tune in to the show. He’s a very likable person and I think he will have a good interview style.
As far as the whole is he in the closet thing, who cares? It’s NO ONES BUSINESS BUT HIS! Straight people don’t “come out” and tell everyone they’re straight. Why do gay people? If people didn’t feel the need to constantly tell everyone else how different they are, no one would give a hoot. Not just on the gay/straight issue, but as far as religion, race, political views, and so on. I don’t care if someone is gay, some of my closest friends are gay. I do care that every time I turn on the TV, pick up a magazine or click on an online article the subject is being shoved down our throats. It’s enough already.
Cooper is not out (see him dodge the issue, and EW let him, in his coy chat in the current issue). He hides behind the shield of having a reporter, not a celebrity. He suggests that discussing his personal life would interfere with his newsman credibility (and no doubt his paycheck, which is fine, but just say it, Coop). For a guy who’s catch phrase is “Keepin’ ‘Em Honest,” his stance is beyond risible. First, Cooper has been very open about every other aspect of his life (his brother’s suicide, pampered upbringing, workout routine, etc.). Note his dishy 2006 memoir, in which he opened up about his tough relationship with his dad. Second, he is not Walter, Dan, Peter, Tom or even Diane. He has gossiped live on New Year’s Eve with Kathy Griffin. Done stomach crunches in a biceps-revealing t-shirt on Live with Regis and Kelly. Lost his newsman composure by giggling uncontrollably on camera over a “news” story about a celebrity who peed on an airplane. By continuing to dodge the question about something as simple as his sexual preference (a simple “No comment” or “I’m securely gay, but don’t speak about my private life” might suffice), what Cooper keeps doing in this case is extending the notion that being gay is something to be ashamed of. I feel sorry for the gay teens who read that EW interview with him.
We raised 6 children (all in or near their 50′s today) by always having dinner together & talking. We started the old Art Linkletter idea of having a question for dicussion & everyone had a chance to give their answer & reason for it. It was a real incite to what they were thinking & they in turn as they got older had the questions. We had much enlightenment to their private thinking 7 SOMETIMES MANY LAUGHS.
