The premise doesn’t sound like it can be sustained over time. Plus it’s Ryan Murphy’s creation, which doesn’t bode well. The cast sounds good, but I’m not interested.

If it is truly the ‘opposite of Glee’, then it’s the Best Show Ever and I will watch. From between my fingers.

I’ve been watching all of Ryan Murphy’s stuff since “Popular”. The man knows how to make good T.V. Period.

Personally, I don’t care what anyone says. I loved Nip/Tuck, the first season was the best, but the whole show was amazing and I miss it. I am so excited about AHS, if it’s half as good as Nip/Tuck was I am on board. I have watched the first few episodes and I really really am falling in love with it. I like shows like this, that there is nothing else like on TV. I love horror, suspense, and mystery. Yet, there are very few shows like that on TV right now. I loved Harper’s Island, but it was only meant for one season. I want more amazing unique phsycho thriller sexual TV shows. I like risque shows that push boundaries and Nip/Tuck was one of those. Seemed like all the good shows have ended and what was replacing them was crap. I loved Big Love, Secret Diary of a Call Girl, and Nip/Tuck. All of which are over, the only boundary pushing show left that I have found I liked is True Blood. There just are not that many good shows anymore. So yes, this is a breath of fresh air, with a stellar cast and an amazing concept. Why wouldn’t I want to watch this and want it to do well and stay on TV for a LONG time?

and yes I didn’t think it could sustain itself over a long period either, but the way they have set it up, it looks VERY promising. There is nothing else like this on TV, there is nothing else on TV right now for adults that pushes boundaries, is suspenseful, with a mysterious background. And there is certainly not one show out there for horror fans, except this one and possibly Tru Blood. Now that Nip/Tuck is gone, along with Big Love, Secret Diary of a Call Girl, and Rescue Me is about to end, what other shows are left that are boundary pushing. And for horror fans? Let’s see we used to have Master’s of Horror, they took it off the air. Then came Fear Itself which on reg. TV didn’t last long. Harper’s Island was one season and didn’t gain praise til AFTER it was already over and ppl found it on Netflix. Last year, there was a show with an amazing concept, that started well called Person’s Unknown and for some reason it wasn’t advertised much and ended up canceled I think. It was on NBC and personally, I feel had it been on a different network It would of done better b/c the show was an awesome concept and well acted. The first part of it was, I admit, better than the later episodes, but still a lot better than most of these stupid shows. I mean how many police, hospital Procedual, comedies, and gag me reality shows do we need? Give us something good and new. Heck, revamp a really good old series for all I care just bring us some mystery/suspense/horror back to TV. I personally loved the Xfiles and I liked Lost, although it was a very confusing show. I just discovered Fringe, which reminds me a bit of the Xfiles and so I start watching it and get to the like third season and stuff gets way weird. I’m still trying to stick with it b/c It started off awesome. I would love to see a horror anthology come back to cable. We haven’t had one since MOH and I miss those too. All the good TV is gone and we have very few really great shows now and most of the new shows that have come out are just the same old concept as another show already on TV. AHS, IMO is the best new show on Tv right now. Heck, it’s hard to tell yet but I think it will be one of the best shows on TV all together pretty soon. I know Murphy/Falchuck wanted to stay with FX but if this show had aired on HBO and been heavily advertised during the season on Tru Blood, it could of been even bigger than I hope it is going to be. I think it is time that HBO gets itself a really good new show, True Blood can’t carry it all the time. Personally, that is the only show I even watch on HBO and they used to have all kinds of good shows.
