Welcome back Matt! I just love that cute, crooked smile!
Matt
I didn’t think the show was actually trying to demonstrate that Mindy and company were influencing Becky to have bad taste at all. They helped her look gorgeous, she placed 3rd (no shame in that), and she obviously loved that they booed the judges for not naming her the winner.
Again…having finished season 5 on DVD… the whole “Epyck” storyline, however she spells her name, is perhaps the worst storylie in the show’s five-year history. It goes nowhere, I didn’t care, and then it’s just dropped. The writers must have figured out how boring it was. Blah. But the rest of the season is so great, there really isn’t room to fit her in.
As much as I hate spoilers and I think these comments should remain spoiler-free for those of us who are watching each week, I have to say I’m okay knowing this information. I think if what you’re saying is true, it means they perhaps were lining Epick up for a real storyline if the show had gotten another season, but since it’s not, she’s just not worth the time or trouble.
pretty sure they knew going into S5 that it was the last (hence all of the ‘all stars’ like Street returning) so it makes the inclusion of the Epyk storyline all the more odd. At this point she doesn’t have connections to any other character but Tammi- not sure why the writers included her but I’m glad to hear her storyline is dropped relatively quickly.
oh, and not looking for spoilers at all but does the new ‘hippie’ kid (tight end I believe) ever get a storyline? can’t really figure out why he was introduced as I think he’s said about 20 words all season. and i know we don’t have that many more eps to go!
Matt and his megawatt smile was truly a welcome sight at the end. When Julie got off the phone with the TA and I saw the car do a U-turn my heart sank. So glad the writers didn’t make this whole season about Julie’s poor choices which in turn brings heartache to Coach and Tami. I want a happy ending even though I will be seriously unhappy when it does end.
