believe you are conflating the Roman Catholic wedding ceremony, which includes a Nuptial Mass, with the High Anglican one, which does not.http://bit.ly/j4vg1j
I don’t know which London they were looking at because there was very little sunshine yesterday! It peeked out once or twice, but the day was certainly overcast! It was a beautiful ceremony, beautiful bride, and an awesome excuse to go out and party!
Thank you for a great recap, Ken! I stayed up all night to watch it because I am a romantic and I like William. It’s sad to come to the boards and read all these negative comments. I don’t know why Anne stirred the pot by saying she could not find coverage of the storms. I live in Texas and – believe me – it was all over the news. There is also a little thing called the Internet, where any person can keep up with current events. I watched the wedding on BBC America and kept up with the storm updates too. The Royal Wedding was a nice respite from all the horrible things that are going on in our country and around the world, and I am glad I was able to share in the couple’s joy.
My question is, in light of modern day, diverse London, why was the ceremony utterly devoid of any ethnic representation? The Royals are living in the past, and this will be the reason they won’t be around for much longer. Look at how they dress for crying out loud. Get with the times!
Obviously they don’t dress like that all the time.
And the wedding party was made up of William and Kate’s families! So you really can’t blame them for the ceremony not being ethnically diverse. Relax.
you weren’t watching the same wedding as the royal houses of saudia arabia / jordan the afican king of swaziland and so forth were at the wedding. as were reperesntatives fromall the common wealth countries and former colonies which include many african and caribbean antions. but since u r american ur news probably didn’t cover that. my common wealth country gave these countries the introduction deserving and the all the foregin monarchs respect.
Gorgeous wedding. But what I really liked was the looks they gave each other and how they looked in each others eyes during the ceremony. Looks like a real love match. And they are not two young children that should discover more of life before they get married. It did seem to me the Queen was not all that thrilled. Of course she is in her 80s and may have just been tired. Kate looked beautiful, happy and understated. Wore her gown perfectly. William was happy and protective. A very good bridegroom. The only thing silly was those hats some of the women wore. I do understand that the Queen has always wore hats and she does wear them well. But the silly looking contraptions wore by some of the others just made them look stupid! Not what you would expect. It was like they wanted to be noticed and it was not their day.
The wearing of outrageous hats is something of a British tradition. Indeed, half the fun of watching coverage of the races at Ascot is seeing the hats.
Just reading all the comments, you Americans are still British deep down, you can moan and groan about the monarchy like any of us, even after 236 years
235years
I am an englishwoman who’s very proud and fully supportive of our royal family. Here in the UK we have had much media coverage of the wedding but also coverage of the tornadoes in the US. Reading through this site i must disagree with the comments about William not working for a living and living off our taxes. The man is a pilot in the RAF! He works as a pilot for the search and rescue team putting his life on the line to help others, not to mention the charitable work he does with his brother. He is a good man
Kate is brilliant, she let her sister look hot and by doing so guided the attention away from her just enough. She favored the Grace Kelly wedding look which singled another commoner who married into a royal family, successfully, and she showed genuine warmth and love in her eyes.
what a lovely review
I enjoyed watching the wedding, I think there was too much coverage leading up to the actual event. I wish them long…… happy life together…… Hold me, I’ll cough.
I really enjoyed watching the wedding so much and is beautiful……I love it…
I got bored reading the comments. Here’s a thought…why not honor BOTH the joy and glory of the wonderful wedding, which really was something to celebrate, and then go and donate what you can, be it time, money, or material, to those who are victims of disaster.
Really folks, there is room in all of our heads and our hearts for BOTH.
Sheesh.
are ya kidding me how can anyone care in the least about the so called royal wedding the royal family has no purpose other than suck money from there country as far as the wedding what a waste wonder how long before the prince follows in daddys footsteps and embarases the country after banging someone other than his wife what a joke
acrylic. I’m pttery sure, she paints over stuff too much to be oil… i guess, unless she uses additives like liquin and/or cobalt dryer or something… but it’s most likely acrylic and acrylic mediums.
I like how everyone’s missed the hilarity of this article.
