youre not saving money if you get 68 bottles of $2.75 ketchup for 35cents eacch, then end up donating them because they are about to expire. BURN
I just watched the episode with Michele from North Carolina and find her behavior inconsiderate, rude and very low class. I agree that these “couponers” do not actually factor the actual cost of their coupons. In addition, to walk into a store and “clear” the shelves is selfish, especially when another shopper is right next to you trying to purchase the same item. Michele’s behavior is consistent with the “Trailer Trash” mentality that she lives by. To stand there and laugh at the customer because he should have gotten there before her is reprehensible.m I personally would have let the other shopper not only have some of the items that he was looking for but also would have offered him a couple of coupons. Michele’s “hoard” is full of items that she doesn’t even need-especially 100 packages of tic tacs.
i think extgreme couponing show is absolutely ridiculous. these people buy mostly garbage, And, they buy everything left in the store. what if some normal people want to buy that item and its all goen because of these wierdos buying ten thousand of the same garbabge item. i just watched an episode of these idiotic people, stating “i dont care what it is as long as its free” . i cant understand it. i eat very healthy , like fruits and vegetables and stuff that helps you lead a healthy life. Not 300 bottles of soda, 500 bottles of mustard, and 500 energy bars. come on people. it seriously disgusts me. i cant ever watch that show again. leave some stuff for everybody else. and there should be a limit in these coupons. i cant even stand anybody on that show.
TLC’s Extreme Couponing show is most likely paid for by the handful of giant grocery companies that control all the food and drink distribution in this great county. These shows provide them with cheap advertising to encourage people to buy things they don’t need in the name of saving money.
TLC should be required to publish lists of items on their website of what these people actually bought. It appears to be 75-80% soft drinks in huge bottles which makes it look like they are buying many large carts filled to the brim with edibles for their money.
How many boxes of pasta can you eat? All most of it contains is flour and water and if you’re lucky, egg. Jars of pancake mix you only need to add water to? Don’t help fill up our landfills. There’s no such thing as a free lunch. Save money, buy a big box and mix it yourself.
When you take away everything that cannot be eaten in their carts, these people don’t appear to be saving money on much that is edible.
Come on TLC, prove us wrong by publishing lists of what these people are actually buying!
Good task writing this article. I would like to learn more on this subject.
I can’t understand the show for two reasons.
1) They never eat fresh produce and meat. I saw someone say you can get coupons on produce, but that’s frozen and canned. Meat is difficult, and seafood almost impossible. Heaven forbid you want something other than chicken, pork, and tilapia. Except for bananas, there are never sales on loose, fresh produce.
2) They live in an area where it’s okay to stockpile coupons and use coupons on sale items. I live in an area where double couponing and using coupons on sale items isn’t allowed.
