Elton John is hosting Saturday Night Live this week; he’s also the musical guest.
The promos the show has released suggest an Elton fully confident he’s up for the task. Or at least the task of grappling with Kristen Wiig:
You may notice a theme in these two clips; in the first, Elton is called a “diva”; in the second, he refers to himself as a “bitch.” I’d be mildly surprised if we don’t get one about the impending royal wedding with Elton playing the Queen.
It’s been a couple of weeks since there was a new SNL; a lot has happened in the world. Those twin babies became an internet sensation; two girls got booted off American Idol during (what else?) Elton John-theme-week; and I’ll bet SNL has heard that there’s a lot going on with America’s foreign policy.
What are your guesses for the sketch themes SNL will address?

Yes.
EW.com ALWAYS posts the promos for new SNL episodes and asks people what they think the sketches will be and what they’d like to see. For the opening, I’d love to see Bill Hader’s Charlie Sheen trying to explain why the shows he claimed were sold out weren’t actually sold out. Elton as the Queen would be very amusing, although they already did a Royal Wedding bit when Anne Hathaway hosted, so I don’t know if they’ll go there again. Can’t wait for Weekend Update, my favorite part!

Hope the music is good because I don’t have much hope for the comedy this week. Maybe the Bronx Zoo Cobra will show up.

I will be front and center knowing that my favorite, the fabulous Elton John, will be on tonight!! Will come back and post whether I think the show is a good one or not after it finishes. After a less then positive season, let’s hope tonights show will be a good one….
Another wasted night watching when I should’ve/could’ve been sleeping. Recently, it’s been a HUGE BORE.
