Impeccable acting, sophisticated writing, well-produced scenes….this show is AMAZING. So happy that it’s on tv right now. There’s a dearth of intelligent shows on network television and The Good Wife is the top one (with Fringe a close second).
Another commenter mentioned the gruesome violence against women in this ep and how we as posters seemed desensitized b/c we were not outraged on the message board. I have to say, I was repulsed by the pics and the whole theme of the trial this week; however, I think the female characters were not desensitized to the graphicness/evil, they were simply looking at it as objectively as they could in order to punish this heinous man. We as viewers were merely intrigued with the other, more prominent goings on during the episode. It’s a stellar show that makes a viewer more focused on the characters and relationships over a gruesome trial’s details.
one more quick thing: I adore the scenes between Cary and Kalinda. Yes, she’s very savvy and knows she can “manipulate” him, but I feel a very real tenderness between them. I think Kalinda truly sees him as a protector and someone she can trust, not simply a cute, productive man at her beck and call. I look forward to the developments in their relationship.
I agree! I’d love to see a romance between them. I certainly don’t want to see any more of Galinda playing footsie with another woman…how revolting.
The Good Wife is the finest drama on television. My husband and I both look forward to it every week. I am glad to see Eli have a bigger part–he does such a great acting job. I love his almost romance and hope it turns into something lasting for him! I do not think Galinda slept with Peter. I think their secret is something else, maybe even worse than if they had slept together once. I could be wrong, but I just have a feeling it’s more complicated than a one-night stand. It’s good to see Peter in the show…I’m not much of a fan of Will; he’s not attractive in the least as far as I’m concerned. I can’t understand why they didn’t pick a more exciting guy for that role so that Alicia’s attraction to him would be more believable. Galinda is terrific, but I hope they don’t push the lesbian sex thing…at least don’t show her acting it out. This is one show where everyone’s acting is superb and the plot line is awesome.
I love Cumming as an actor and equaly love his character on the show, great actor. The only thing he cant do is act like he likes chicks”Not that there is anything wrong with that”
But I laugh everytime he tries to act hetero
Touchdown! That’s a really cool way of ptiuntg it!
I have yet to hear Peter or Kalinda verbally acknowledged they had an affair. It is evident they are hiding something and everyone assumes it is an affair. Peter helped Kalinda change her name. Peter told Alicia not to bring up Kalinda. She accused him of sleeping with her best friend. He neither denied nor confirmed. Kalinda is Peter’s daughter.
In the beginning episodes, there is a scene where Kalinda and Alicia are getting ready to enter a court room and Alecia says how long it has been since she had been in a court room and Kalinda turns and looks at her and tells Alicia how old she was the last time Alicia was in a courtroom.( she said she was either 9 or 12 years old, I can’t remember) I think that was to foreshadow something else. It was to define Kalinda’s age which will be necessary to figure out that she is Peter Florrick’s daughter, possible fathered when he was in high school. And yes it would kill Alicia to know Peter knew he had fathered a child and never told her…their entire relationship would have been a lie.
