I’ve loved House since day 1, but they really lost me with this musical. Any time a drama show turns musical, it’s because they’re getting ready to throw in the towel, and they want to show prospective talent agents how multi-talented these actors are. They’re auditioning for their NEXT job. What a waste of an hour of TV, and all that money to produce this episode.
I LOVED THIS EPISODE SO SUCK IT.
I enjoyed this episode, in all its heart-breaking intensity. The complexities of the dream sequences, with their mixture of metaphors that signalled Cuddy’s attempts to analyze her relationship with House, were extremely well done. The final musical number was eerie, enthralling, and ominous. The break-up of House and Cuddy hurt like hell. But the acting of Lisa Edelstein and Hugh Laurie was superb and that totally sold their pain to me. These are lovers who are made for each other but who can never be together due to inherent character flaws. A tragedy in the classical tradition and extremely well executed all around. This was great TV.
I did not see a “Jump The Shark” moment, but was troubled and moved by the show, which reminded me of the Buffy episode ” Once More with Feeling”, in which the characters all did song and dance during the episode.
I am so bored with Cuddy “breaking up” with House every week and then taking him back. *yawn* I think this show has run its course and is rolling fast into retirement. kthxbai
