I agree with you Ann…I even said aloud ‘That was totally rude’ when he called them nerds. Jimmy Fallon is a great suggestion for a host. Hell, after James Franco, all they need is someone with PART of a personality to top him.
I am a huge Jimmy Fallon late night fan (oops, wrong network!). but one of the reasons why is because he is really a fan and really likes people and isn’t always trying to act cooler than his guests. hosting an awards show is not supposed to be like hosting a roast, where the mean-spirited jabs are de rigueur. good natured fun and self deprecating humor are called for when hosting an awards show (think Bob Hope or Johnny Carson, not Ricky G or David Letterman). and, pick a host with some experience in hosting not actors like Franco and Hathaway
and this coming from Franco…star of Rise of the Apes.
i love billy he really did a great job! infact the standing ovasion given to him were all worth it!
he is a legend.. please bring him back as host the next oscars.
ANNE & JAMES so young… they bored me.
tho anne put some efforts. james so so serious.
I thought it was one of the most boring oscar shows I have seen in years…and being as old as I am…and a truly movie buff since the 40′s I have a lot of Oscar shows under my belt. You need to go back to Billy or some one like him or Bob Hope…not 2 young children as Franco and Hathaway…they are good actors but not hosts!!
Billy and Bob were about as funny as colon cancer.
Ken, find another job because your analytical skills suck. This year’s Oscars were beyond bad. They were the worst I’ve ever seen. It was additionally bland thjat THE KING’S SPEECH won the top awards because that film was dull too.
Franco looked stoned out of his gourd, Hathaway acted like she just got laid, or had way too much coffee…The King’s Speech narriation during the final round-up was a no-brainer that the film would win. Kirk Douglas was the only high point. He showed Franco how it was done. Rock on, Kirk!
Worst Oscars ever! Other than Billy Crystal, Hugh Jackman is the best host. If he won’t do it, get Neil Patrick Harris.
