Jimmy Kimmel post-Oscar show review: Lindsay Lohan, 'Humpilates,' and Tom Hanks: with VIDEO

Lindsay-Lohan-Jimmy-KimmelImage Credit: Richard Cartwright/ABCJimmy Kimmel’s annual post-Oscar show was a glitzier version of his usual Live! With guest stars ranging from Tom Hanks to Lindsay Lohan, it was a shrewd shambles, artfully artless.

Among the taped bits was a groaner that seemed left over from Kimmel’s Man Show days: the “Hottie Body Hump Club,” with an array of female stars, including Lindsay Lohan, Scarlett Johansson, Minka Kelly, Jessica Biel, Jessica Alba, Emily Blunt, and Sophia Vergara, all gamely “exercising” suggestively. It seemed to go on for a loooong time, culminating in the Lohan cameo. Lindsay looked a bit worn out — from the exercise, I’m sure.

There was also a King’s Speech parody featuring Mike Tyson teaching a George Bush to speak better.

Tom Hanks, still trussed into a tux and his usual genial self, told a few stories about his own Oscar statue, made some self-deprecating jokes about Bonfire of the Vanities and The Man With One Red Shoe, and performed in a nice little Toddlers and Tiaras parody with a funny Ron Howard cameo.

Did you watch Kimmel’s post-Oscar special?

Kimmel was a lot more entertaining than the Oscar borefest. Loved Tom Hanks and the Humpilates.

    • LOL

      Free Lindsay!

      • LOL BYE.

No, actually, I think pop culture is getting by just fine with her being locked away somewhere, thank you.

      • Jeff

Can anybody on Earth make Lohan go away? Anybody?

      • Brian C.

Umm, I’m pretty sure she is free (for now).

      • Tall Amy

I love him, so funny and TallPeopleMeet was perfect

Kimmel should host the Oscars next year. He’d kill with the one-liners and there wouldn’t be awkward moments because he would convert them into brilliant nuggets of wit and humor.

The Toddlers and Tiaras bit was hilarious but my favorite part was Sir Michael Tyson. Thought the HoBo skit went way too long.

    • parkR

Last year’s Guy Club, it looked liked all the actors were filmed together. This “HoBo” scetch, it looked like all of them were CGI’ed together

      • J

Actually only a few of the guys in the Club were actually on set together, which I would never have known until Jimmy mentioned that most of them shot their parts alone. Not sure why they weren’t able to make it look as cohesive this year.

Kimmel was awful. Seriously, he’s getting almost as bad as Leno.

    • Diane

      Worse than Leno

      • palmstring

        as agreed, Diane

Really enjoyed the Toddlers and Tiara skit as Tom Hanks was very into it. Sir Michael Tyson bit was genius. And while I did enjoy the HoBo skit, I concur that it dragged on a tad long (though perhaps because they kept on adding NEW additions to the skit). I was pretty surprised to see so many gamed actresses partake in it. Still don’t understand the whole Jessica Alba crying back story though.

    • JKL so much better than the Oscars!

Tom Hanks’ commitment as stage mother from hell was pure gold…no wonder the man has a few Oscars at home. That skit was so good!! The Tyson/Bush version of The King’s Speech was so original, too! The HOBO sketch was OK, but some of the actresses tried a little too hard. My fave HOBO was Emily Blunt, with Kimmel dressed just like her and “stalking” her in the backgroud. All in all, well worth getting through the interminable Oscar show.

I loved Jimmy’s whole show, very entertaining and I really needed the funny after the Oscar’s :D

  • tracy bluth

Tom Hanks’ Toddlers and Tiaras spoof was by far the best part!!!

  • Ryan

    Sofia Vergara, not Sophia.
Would love to be an editor for you guys. And I’m not saying that at all as a dig or insult or with any grain of salt, I mean it. It would be a dream come true!

  • kevin

wow…i thought JKL was the highlight of a 6 hour long boring evening, but I’m not paid for my opinion…i giggled by butt off and enjoyed all the bits. That’s entertainment, tomato, tomata.

  • Denise

I thought Jimmy Kimmel’s show was really funny tonight. The Mike Tyson-George Bush segment was a classic! That was really funny and clever. Tyson was excellent! Tom Hanks was a riot as usual…loved the Toddlers and Tiara sketch, hilarious! perfect!

  • Kate

The HoBo bit definitely didn’t live up to the Handsome Men’s Club last year, but Tom in the Toddlers and Tiaras was hilarious!

    • Romy

Would have love to have Handsome Men’s Club part II…

  • Scooter

to be fair, Lindsay didn’t appear worn out at all. you just want to keep the anti-Lohan talk going. the Toddlers & Tiara’s bit was hilarious! Sophie totally deserved the crown!

    • besimon

Mama Rose has got nothing on Papa Tom Hanks. He was great!

TOROBUITRE808 on March 29, 2011 And are you suggesting that ppeole just pay somebody whatever they ask just because they called and demanded payment? You can make an argument that not paying a debt is a dishonorable thing and in many cases I would agree that you are right. However, wouldn’t you also consider it dishonorable for some company to buy a bunch of debt for $.02 on the dollar and then start calling ppeole demanding payment when they have no real proof these ppeole actually owe anything?

  • Dave

Jessica Biel seemed to be the MVP of the HoBo skit. She really went all out.

    • cara

It’s not like she gets many acting jobs, so she likely put her heart and soul into this. Z-list at best.

  • melissa

Im not gonna be able to get tom hanks screaming “sexy feet!” at his daughter or jessica biels rabbit humping out of my mind. Still laughing!

  • Doctor Feelgood

I think Jimmy Kimmel saved the evening for me. I found the skits absolutely hillarious! I even pvr’d the show & will look at it again today! Next year’s Oscar host should be Jimmy Kimmel!

    • palmstring

Well, hosting the Oscars didn’t work well with Letterman, did it?

      • you have a point

Kimmel’s brand of humor is good-natured, though, whereas Letterman’s is sharp. I think Kimmel would succeed where Letterman failed mainly due to this reason.

    • Yes!!

Kimmel would be awesome as Oscar host!

    • Kedir

If I have another one, you are my girl, for sure. I would love to see what you saeppnd while there you have a great eye. And, I kinda missed my little camera’s macro function would have made a few things much easier.
