I totally agre that this was a poor review:( I feel sorry for the reviewer – You are supposed to be a professional journalist, yet your bias towards the show, whether valid or not, was unnecessarily taking a analytical tone of hate. How do you not see the storyline for what it is? – About a boy, who lost his mom – and insight of the lost family member whom he once loved and still loves. Personally speaking, I know it’s an exact copy of the British episode for Chris, which I’ve already viewed and strongly suggest you do the same. Research – considering you’re a paid ‘professional’ – for lack of a better word – Don’t hate the game when you signed up for it buddy.

Dear God, would somebody PLEASE cancel this show?! It’s terrible. It sucks compared to U.K. Skins. It might have been better if they’d put it on HBO or something but MTV just watered it down and tried to make it cool. Stupid.

Just watch the real one, the British version. SO much better and Netflix has it for instant watch

I liked the episode LMAO maybe more than the UK version. For stat purposes I’m a 32 yr Female.

I’m 15, and I happen to know that everything I’ve seen in Skins, Actually does happen. More than half the teens I’ve met do drugs, have sex, have parties like that. And guess what Parents; They’re doing it right under your noises. As I told my own mom, I think MORE parents should watch this. yes, it’s awful. But that’s what most kids are out doing these days, and no one’s stopping them. I don’t Skins is so much as encouraging this…As showing “HEY! This is how the average American teenager is!” Because you know what? It’s true. SO get over it, and why not maybe look more into your kid’s lives, huh?

I’ve watched some of the UK episodes.. but not all of them. Regardless of what everyone thinks about the US version sucking.. i still find it somewhat interesting. The show is really unique and it is engaging..

and i the US version has a way better looking cast. all of the girls are freaking hott.

Tea. Are you kidding me?! I will watch the show just for her.

Daisy. Michelle. the other chick. are not bad at all either.

If I’m going to watch a show about sex and partying. the people better be good-looking.. all i’m saying.

I love the UK original series and I wanted to give the MTV version a try, Eps 1&3 were exact replicas so I didn’t enjoy them much.
Ep 2 with Tea’s storyline I think was good and shows great potential that once/if the show is out of the shadow of its original it might become something good.
The writer says that by the end of season 1 the show will become completely different from the original.

I agree with many commentators who said Ken Tucker’s review was unprofessional and honestly I would expect a better job from him…

I think this show is the biggest heads-up most parents will ever get about their kids. Especially in larger cities where it is easy for teenagers to go by unnoticed these things have been happening when I was in high school more than 10 years ago..
If you look closely at Tony and his sister, they have the perfect system of partying while their parents are unaware of their actions.
Instead of fighting against it, parents should try to get the message and pay more attention to their children.

I absolutly love the new. Show skins. I think it has a lot of real factors in it. The things chris are going through, a lot of teenagers are. Probably dealing with, abandonment. And the. Drugs thing, I. Have two bothers and I know both smoke weed. One, is amazingly smart although the stupid descision. My point being, even with some bad examples in the show, its real. What else would you want? It may not be real in the sense that its scripted and some things may be overdone, but the struggles and such are very realistic.
