Jon Stewart began Monday night’s Daily Show by congratulating Conan O’Brien on his new show… and feigned shock upon discovering that Conan is now his Read the full post.

While Maher is hilarious, I have the solution Jon Stewart is looking for: stop watching tv for “news” and read the newspaper or pick up an objective magazine.

Oh, give me a break. This is ENTERTAINMENT for crying out loud! I watch Stewart, Colbert, Maher, O’Brien, and other late night talk (which is possible to do in this TiVo age) because in this INSANE society of so much serious confusion, I need to laugh out loud more often than not, just to keep MY OWN SANITY in check. Whether we are liberal, progressive, conservative, moderate … it makes no difference. I think this world would be a better and SANER one taking our problems more seriously if we GET A SENSE OF HUMOR!

Sorry, Ken, but I had to agree with Bill. Saying MSNBC is like Fox News is like saying steak is like roadkill. And I was under the impression that the “new” rally was just a joke.

Great stuff, Maher. Fat jokes and using stereotypes to combat stereotypes. We’re all insane and/or stupid if we don’t fall in line behind you. I’m pretty sure you’re closer to being the left Beck than Olbermann is.

it’s hard for me to watch bill maher. his only goal is to spread his opinion and show that anyone else’s opinions are not only wrong, but incredibly stupid. he’s not even clever in how he goes about it; insulting hundreds of thousands of people, alienating those that may have once given credence to his thoughts…

stewart is clearly the winner of this, not only because he has more class, but because he doesn’t make people want to reach through the tv and strangle him.

there does need to be change in television media; maher should be the first to go.

“The idea that Maher presents a more coherent argument for his views than Stewart is as laughable as — well, as one of Stewart’s better jokes, which is to say: hysterical.

Stewart and Colbert are engaged in media criticism, not political activism. That’s the “point” Maher didn’t see or hear in his attempt to decimate the rally. At this, and at knocking the wind out of his own sails, Stewart remains the champ, to continue the boxing metaphor he used on his show on Monday.”

Thank you, thank you, thank you. Well said!

Sorry, but Bill is right. Just because there are two sides with arguments does not mean that both arguments are equally compelling. The arguments based on facts and empirical data are more compelling, regardless of how many people choose to believe it.

i think maher is right too

If MSNBC is so truthful and correct why do they suck when it comes to the ratings compared to fair and balanced FoxNews?
