To borrow from KEN TUCKER…”If you’re a Republican, how do you look at yourself in the mirror Wednesday morning?” Most of the Republican winners are very backward and mean-spirited. America is in trouble having this in its Congress. Those so-called “revolutionaries” (The Tea Party) are really conservative Republicans who voted their like-minded Republicans into office.
Keep fighting the good fight…get tough, President Obama. We need your sanity in the White House as our Commander In Chief!
I hope we learn our lesson in not allowing enough time for things to take shape after 8 years of BS…er..GW. 2 more years and we’ll wish we never did this. I just wish there were more 3rd options out there to vote for…and what’s wrong with socialism anyway? Look up the definition…Obama is NOT socialist.
Socialism: an economic and political theory advocating public or common ownership and cooperative management of the means of production and allocation of resources. (Wikipedia)
Considering that Obama favors policies that result in the transfer of wealth in a way consistent with the concept of public or common ownership, I’d say that it’s reasonable to believe that Obama is a Socialist.
your an idiot. I mean, I didnt want to resort to name calling but really?! That humans can’t be altruistic in and of itself? that you conflate the definition of socialism so you can say ‘see! see! look, wealth redistribution, HA!’ c’mon your as much a part of the problem as all the rhetoric spewing asses on capital hill.
I’m sorry that you are unable to understand the argument that I was presenting, but I didn’t argue that human beings can’t be altruistic in and of itself.
Ken,
‘church’ is not a byword dr Christianity, there many churches from many religions, and in any case, that was just one example of a charitable private institution that would/could provide aid to the poor. Have you never given spare change to a bum, if you have, then you are another example of a private party providing a degree of aid to the poor. Please don’t degrade your comments with your very obvious and specific hatred of Christianity. I am not a Christian, but Im not so blind as to think of everything as so polarized. Jeeez!
There are none so blind as they who will not see.
these 2 r a HUGE SNNNNNNNORE!!!!
I CAN’T STAND IT ANYMORE!!!! You people are DUMBASSES!! You have the most powerful country in the world. You should be a beacon of light and hope for the rest of the world to see how democracy works. No wonder no one listens anymore. STOP all the infighting. Nothing is going to get accomplished. Progress takes time but clearly you as a country have a lack of patience. Mark my words, all you are going to left with is “remember when”‘s and a pile of ashes.
