Jay Pharoah’s impersonation as Eddie Murphy was pitch-perfect! This dude has done Denzel Washington and Will Smith perfectly too. He’s incredibly talented.
Keenan’s Bill Cosby impersonation is just him trying to duplicate Eddie Murphy’s superior Bill Cosby impersonation. Ever since Eddie Murphy put out Raw, every Bill Cosby impersonation has been a cheap knock off of Eddie Murphy.
I disagree…I thought Jon Hamm’s last visit was much better. The sketches were much more sharply-written and he was asked to do more and delivered. He’s really good but this time the material was pretty awful.
I also have to agree with the commenters who are getting tired of Kristen Wiig. I mean, she is talented but her schtick gets old after awhile. Her recurring characters are everywhere in those unfunny skits. There are so many new castmembers and I’d like to see more of them.
For some reason the proposed fridge tagline from the opening monologue, “A box of winter for your food to live in”, had me in hysterics. Probably my favorite joke of the night.
You forgot Jay Pharoah’s Eddie Murphy impression. It was even better than his Denzel!
JON HAMM is the “new” ALEC BALDWIN. Mr. HAMM is so gifted…he does satire/parody/comedy very, very well. And, oh, he’s not “hard” on the eyes either. More JON HAMM as SNL host, please. I also agree that KRISTIN WIIG is in far too many SNL skits. I would like to see the other ladies of SNL more often. Ms. WIIG is too over rated on SNL. I remember the days of LARAINE NEWMAN, JANE CURTIN and GILDA
RADER…these women all had equal time in the SNL skits. Mr. MICHAELS, have you forgotten female SNL actors
receiving equal/shared TV time?
Hamm was pretty good, the rest was not. All of the cast except for Samberg and the new cast members (who are actually funnier than everyone but Samberg) should go live in a van down by the river
I was disappointed in SNL last week. This was the weakest show Jon Hamm has hosted. I thought he was good in his sketches, but he sure wasn’t given much to work with. Hope next time is better, Hamm is a good comic actor, but get him better material.
Um, what about jay pharoah’s impersonation of eddy murphy. It was not only dead on, but I was funny. Also, kristen wiig is hilarious. You guys just have no taste, therefore, you’re looking for excuses as to why she needs to be gone. Lame.
