To SAm, as one to another please remember that many of us were considered to be communists when we petitioned that the bomb not ever be used. The expression of alternate opinion is frowned upon by those who presume to know it all.

Stewart kicked Obama’s a$$ better than Bill O’Reilly did.

As can be seen from my Usenet posts, although I aggressively
supported Bush when he ran against Gore, it was obvious to me
within a few months, that Bush was cozying up to Sharon, blaming Palestinians
for the Middle East problems although Sharon had tanks surrounding
Arafat’s headquarters, and smearing the United Nations South African
Conference that wanted to focus the World’s attention on the facts
involved in the Middle East situation,

in an effort to infuriate Muslims
with the expectation that some would commit acts of terrorism,
that he could use as an excuse to wage war on Iraq
    and steal their oil.

Before Bush’s needless war against Iraq, America had
a budget surplus, Social Security and the American economy
were in good shape, and America was trusted, respected, emulated
and even loved by most of the folks on the planet.

    “All the King’s (Obama) horses
and all of the King’s men
cannot put Humpty Dumpty together again.”

It’s much easier to break an egg,
    or destroy a nation,
than it is to put them back together again.

    As Warren Buffett said:
“It takes 20 years to build a reputation and five minutes to ruin it.
if you think about that, you’ll do things differently.”

It took 200 years to build America’s “reputation”
and it took Ford, Edison, Carnegie, etc. several decades to
    build up America’s economy,
and it only took a few years to negate these great works.

I love this country, but what is wrong is we allowed lobbyist, and power hungry politicians call the shot for too long. We as a country don’t like hearing the truth. When we do we beat down that person by calling him or her names like communist. President Obama has had everything, but the kitchen sink thrown at him from day one. He has stepped up to the plate, and has tried very hard to help our country. We the people of United States need to come together. The biggest threat to our nation is us.
We have become a country of I, and not we. We give China and Bin Laden power by showing our weakness. Remember the old saying divide and conqueror. We the people have divided this country from the rich and the poor and white too people of color. The politician use key words Christian, and in the same breathe discriminate against another person for wanting a better life for themselves. The truth is we suck at fixing our own problem as a nation. All we do is fight, and while we wasting time and energy and whole lot of money. What we need to do is take care of home first. Make our country what it once was, a strong and respectful country. We need to be self sufficient and stop depending on others countries. We need to grow hell up!

Greatly disappointed that Stewart failed to grill Obama about continuing Bush’s unpatriotic Patriot Act or the fact that he has continued spending huge sums of money on two unwinable wars- the one in Afghanistan and the one on marijuana. I suppose it really doesn’t matter if the president is a Republican or a Democrat, the results are the same. They both run the country…into the ground.

How in the world are all of Obama’s “wonderful contributions” going to be paid for? This country is so far in debt that your children and grandchildren will never see the benefits or the end of the debt. I don’t want my children to live in a socialistic nation.

For you and whoever else ends up reading this:

do you even know what socialism means? social democracy is not the same as socialism

You worry abot Obama’s spending within the US but you don’t worry about Bush’s spending that was done outside of the US? At least Obama’s spending stabilized the economy and had a positive impact on most of us. You may not believe me, but I’ve struggled finding a job for the past 3 years, but now I finally have offers. And I’ve been looking for work every day, even for jobs below the level of my competence.
Obama made mistakes. For me he’s not progressive enough. Clinton also had mistakes, mainly the NAFTA agreement. But if that was so bad why the Republicans didn’t want to fix that, instead they further distablized our economy and treated corporations better than US citizens. In democracy corporations shouldn’t have a voice, only the citizens should have a voice. Therefore no moneys should be given by corporations to the politicians for campaigning or even for securing future (paid) speaking agreements.

^ typos and incomplete thoughts, but don’t blame me, it’s too late and some of the keys don’t work well
