Everyone on this show should be nominated for an Emmy. It really annoyed me that none of the men were nominated. Just watching the subtle expressions in the eyes of Josh Charles and Chris Noth last night solidified that for me.
Alicia and Will all the way,Peter just freaks me out Bleh!
Why no Parenthood recap? I don’t know where else to ask this, but I am curious.
I’m always surprised at how much I like Good Wife; great actors who’ve long deserve the spotlight are all gathered on a great show, so much fun to watch.
The new characters only added to the show, and it’s only the first episode. Everyone will have time for their story and screentime. Don’t worry! All the intro is out of the way now.
I think it will be interesting to see Alicia sift through the fall out of her going to Eli to help manipulate it, so she could keep her job. She’s not some innocent victim who has had her voicemail deleted by him.
I find it far more interesting TV to see Alicia and Peter work on mending their marriage amongst their careers and ambitions than for a whole will they?/won’t they? with Will. Plus, I just can’t see Will trying to be some stepdad to her children. And Alicia’s first priority is/should be her children before something on the side with Will, anyway.
I love everyone on this show is neither fully good or fully bad, and that even goes for Alicia.
And I like Kalinda, but since she’s actually human and not a superhero, I think it will be interesting to see her getting taken down a notch or two by Blake. She can’t have her way all the time.
Such a relief to watch a complicated, challenging adult show after sampling the pabulum of the new shows. The only one I’m sold on is Raising Hope.
Very good episode. The show just flows along so well. I think the new partners were too much too soon. But overall I can’t wait until Michael Ealy goes in 100%. I want to see the law student that was pursuing Will.
Ah, that law student is played by Karen Olivo…one of Broadway’s finest. I adore her! I still want Will to be with Alicia though lol
didn’t it bother anyone that eli was able to delete the message from alicia’s cell phone without a password?? last i checked you can’t listen to peoples messages on their phones without entering one….
I don’t have a password for my voicemail…
What Eli did at the beginning of this episode was absolutly fantastic. It’s about time somebody gave Will a good swift kick in the ego. Where does he get off spewing that kind of garbage to a womann married to someone eles anyway? And Kalinda, where does she get off suggesting Alicia start an affair….? She said “Life is short..” Anyone recognize that. If not a website that promotes adultry uses that to justify an adultrous affairs. The love scene at the end of the episode was excellant. Yes Alicia was enjoying it. I hope Peter will ulimatly reconcile their differances and their marriage wins out. Will is so slimey its sickening.
On the Will-Peter front, I definitely find Peter the more egotistical, and by a long shot. I found Will’s message to be a romantic moment, and also one where he was willing to be quite vulnerable. Yes, Alicia is married – to someone who felt it was o.k. to cheat on her more than 18 times (that was just with Amber alone), with hookers. So I think that muddies the waters a bit, to say the least. I don’t think this show is peddling in any kind of moral abosolutes. And criticizing Kalinda’s promotion of adultery while not acknowledging *Peter’s* adultery seems pretty hypocritical. I find Will endearing and lovely, while Peter, at times, seems the ‘slimy’ one, but maybe that’s just how I feel about clueless politicians who cheat on their wives with prostitutes.
If I found a guy like Will, I wouldn’t let him go away!!!!!
awesome episode! can’t wait for next week..the bathroom show was complicated..but hot!
I was looking forward to the new season, but turned it off as soon as Gold deleted Will’s messages. I find that kind of plot device overused and boring. It would have been much more interesting to see the choice Alicia males, and how she lives with it.
Too bad – you really missed and excellent episode. I didn’t mind that development, as it seemed to fit Eli’s character and motivations completely. And I’m so looking forward to the fallout when Alicia discovers what Will’s message said, and even more – what Eli did. Bound to be fun, even though it’s likely to be way down the line.
Season 2-Episode 1 was a bit of a letdown (Ease off on the flurry of new characters!-bring back the excellent Cary, ditch the miscast new “Partner”=doesnt have onscreen clout of a partner/seems more like a spoiled newby, ditch the guy who’s stealing the brilliant Kalinda’s limited airtime). Good episode but not great.
Episode 2=back up to show’s standard of true greatness (my standard=did I say aloud “this is so f-ing great/superb/amazing” aloud during the commercial breaks? Answer=yes!)The army courtcase was riveting & suspenseful as it gets. Will is getting more depth & Alicia’s subtle power is seemingly increasing in all areas of her life. J. Margulies seems to actually have fewer lines of dialogue than anyone but she bodily/facially fleshes it out-she’s amazing! Can’t wait to savor next week’s show.
What slew of new characters, there were only two knew people and I think it is wise of the writers to keep people coming and going,it gives the show longevity like ER. That show was on forever with new characters all the time. As for Micheal Ealy being to young I don’t think they mentioned what his age he was supposed to be on the show, but he is only to years younger than Josh Charles. As to the title of the Good Wife, here is MHO,Alicia was at home being the good wife, doing all the things a good wife is supposed to do,taking care of the kids and supporting her man, even giving up her career for the good of the family. Then out of no where, she is humiliated by her husband, with hookers no less. Who can blame her if she is thinking of turning to Will, who she had a relationship with previously and it seems she chose Peter over him.And Will still wants her after everything that has happened!I think Will would look pretty inviting to anyone after you have been hurt so badly by your husband. She said it at the end of last season, she is only still there because of the kids. She needs Will to SHOW HER THE PLAN!
I have a girl crush on Kalinda, too. And the longer I watch the show, the more certain it is that I will fall in love with her.
