I love it. The Beck crowd comes in here and spews nothing but inflammatory, angst-ridden posts – only further cementing the point Stewart is making. Not every single topic warrants jacked up, spiteful rhetoric. Lots of people are sick of conversation being hijacked by such extremism.

  • Wouldn’t It Be Funny

Wouldn’t it be funny if all the fear the extremists of the Rep party backfired and ended up pushing people of whom wouldn’t normally go vote during a time when there is no election of a president to go and vote…and our congress ended up with more Dems. I say this as you are more like to see extremist Rep being pushy of the people than seeing a extremist Dem in the media.

The funny thing with guys like redvector above is that they are actually encouraging more people to go to the rally than otherwise would. I wonder if Jon Stewart is paying them to do that?

Its very odd that the words being used to describe this event sound exactly like what republicans have always said of left wing protests. Now the left wing is offended by a mass protests and claims They are too busy working and raising kids to be loud, angry and mobilized. They use derogatory words to insult members of the Tea Party movement and are angry to see that somebody drew a Hitler mustache on a photo of a president..HAHA-How hypocritical.?! Remember what Jim Morrison said..”Once you make your peace with Authority-You become Authority” You liberals have made your peace with the Obama administration and have abandoned your criticize of Government, even though we are losing All of our freedoms under His direct orders..Not GW Bush. Dont you see you have a community of interestest with the Tea Party and Not Obama?

Does it really matter if Glen Beck had 87,000 or 500,00 attendees. The point of Stewart’s Rally is to lampoon ‘Right’ and ‘Left’ extremists, correct? It is not (or shouldn’t be) considered a competition between Beck fans and Stewart fans. And, yes, I am attending the rally in DC. I have always found the ‘Name Calling’ political ads and the ‘Over the Top’ news (?) commentators a waste of my time and attention. I believe that the ‘Rally to Restore Sanity’ will be fun – so let all of us attendees prove the naysayers wrong and enjoy the day!!!

I’m as good as there, as is my mother. This seems like it shall be much fun with a much needed message: Americans do in fact know how to control ourselves!

I am tired of the fighting and hatred between the two political parties, I lean conservative and I’ve got friends that lean liberal,no big deal.
I think my view points are correct but I understand its just my OPINION.
And their view point is their OPINION, which we discuss like civilized people.
The Glenn Becks and Al Sharptons are hijacking this country.
The loudest and most obnoxious always get the camera time.
I cant go to the rally but will be there in spirit, its about time the non extremists in both parties stand up and say enough is enough.
We are the majority, but we’re not crazy enough to be newsworthy.

Humor is good. Humor with an agenda is propaganda served with a laugh track.

I liked Stewart when Bush was in office and I thought he was just being anit-establishment. Then when President Obama took office I saw him for what he is – a comedian with a progressive agenda.

  • WhoDo

Is not a commentary on politics, no matter how funny, political in itself? Jon Stewart is not neutral, simply mocking “both sides”, he is an open proponent of progressive politics.

    • Shelly T.

No, he’s not. He believes every side is equally right, and that’s just wrong.

  • Shelly T.

I can’t imagine what this comedian’s rally is for except to plug his book and himself and his show. It won’t restore sanity to anyone, especially not before an election. Progressives mistakenly think Stewart is one of them, and he’s not. He’s friends with Bill O’Reilly and he believes that is important and so many of us disagree with that. Wake up people, this is about Stewart, not sanity. He’s trying to sell books and boost his ratings.

Don’t think it’s serious. There is so much to be legitimately angry about–the banksters and insurance companies fraud, stealing our money and homes, the rich getting richer and the poor getting poorer, sending Americans to die in Afghanistan or Iraq, illegal wire taps, secret renditions, bailouts for billionaires, drill and kill in our schools, BPs oil gusher . . . the list goes on and on and it’s all done under the Dems watch. If we’re ever to get our due as the common folk, the Democratic wing of the Democratic party should throw all the jokers overboard with pitchforks. We should be having a real rally–not this BS by JS.

Will You HOBO UP with a GOP House?
I recently saw the CBS 60 minutes show about the 99ers and now it is Tier 5 or Hobo Up for us 99ers. We
live in a world with Unemployment Gone MAD and the New Depression Blues, and the CBS 60 minutes show on
Oct 24 2010 should be eye opener for everyone with or without a job! We need a NEW Tier 5 Extended
Unemployment Benefits Bill now or there will be a Hobo Up generation for future 99ers and others in the
street. During 1934 a million and half Hobos rode the rails according to the U S Bureau of Transient Affairs
and in 2011 we will need a new Government HOBO Program for 5 millions 99ers out of benefits if the GOP gains control of the house so we can learn
to ride the freight rails safely when migrating for work . Congress can call the low buck training film
with class (1 day) and related laws the HOBO UP ACT and have old hobos showing the ropes to us newly minted hobos
which should be a bill that finally finds support from the GOP. Hopefully the Democrat S3706 Bill by Democrate Senator Debbie Stabenow which seeks to
add an additional 20 weeks might find a miracle and pass after the election. Also currently IRS has only a
$2400 U/B tax free deduction. WE in addition need the JOBLESS STUB RETRO U/B TAX FREE ACT, a proposal bill
that makes all U/B 100% tax free. Thanks again for all any poltical support for Tier 5 from Artist Country Carl dot com
singer of the New Depression Blues and hopefully you too won’t have to HOBO UP. Jon Stewart Rally, I will be there
