After last week’s lark of an episode, this Sunday’s True Blood played for keeps. Read the full post.

I can’t help thinking they transferred parts the quinn storyline from the books to jesus. anyone else? hotshot guys fleeing at the sight of jesus… not likely to happen
a were would only run at the sight of a stronger were
i think i need more of eric! throughout the episode there is too much jason! and though i know sookie is the main character i would like to see less of her, and more of eric! eric is the only reason i watch this show, so whens theres not very much of him im sad!!!
I really enjoyed this episode. It had me on the edge of my seat. If Franklin and Lorena ever paired up the world would be decimated of humans. Talk about psychotic, delusional love-stared twin vampires! Loving Eric right now and waiting for the big payoff for his 1,000 year revenge payoff. I hope Russell and Talbot stick around a little longer. As an old married couple (700 years, sometimes it seems like 17 million) are a hoot and a half.
@nanboleyn – GOD YES! Seeing as how he was turned in 1865, claiming that anything has been associated with him for “centuries” got under my skin, too. Little things like that stand out for me.
But make no mistake – any continuity errors made do very little to distract me from the brilliance of this guilty pleasure. I love the slow-motion plot lines and the way episodes cut off in the middle of an action (biting a neck, a speeding bullet, etc…) only to re-open a week later without missing a beat. LITERALLY. And there has never been another show (or any other media that I can think of) that handles violence in such an honest and beautiful way. I am repulsed by the gore but appreciative of the scene. Last week’s feeding frenzy in the back of Russell’s limo was just plain artistic…the deep red of the blood on white skin that poured out of the door and onto the street, perfectly scored to Damien Rice’s “9 Problems.” That’s the kind of scene that is maybe a little uncomfortable to watch but leaves a lasting impression. TB is absolutely the most ambitious and fearless show on television and I can’t wait to see how it will all unfold. (And don’t care how far away Alan Ball decides to stray from the novels’ story lines.)
(I just posted a comment on my own before I saw this one.)
@anniikka – I can’t believe I didn’t see that! I’m assuming that Quinn’s bad@ss-weretiger cage fighting stuff has been infused into the whole Mickens dogfighting arc, but I didn’t even notice the possibility of a Quinn/Jesus blend. There are more similarities than just the deference of the Hotshot shifters (at least, I’m HOPING they’ll still be shifters – fingers crossed for werepanthers!) Quinn always seemed very loyal and honest and – for lack of a better word – just a stand-up guy. I’m already seeing some of those characteristics in Jesus. Since I don’t see TB actually adding characters like Quinn, I think we need to look out for the traits of those secondary characters to start showing up in other newcomers. Good catch…let’s watch and find out
Wow! Great thikinng! JK
