'Kate Plus 8' review: 'Am I grumpy? Yes. You would be too if you had to run 26 acres alone.'

The second new Kate Plus 8 special aired on Sunday night, and I’m pretty sure it’s only a matter of time before the kids stage Read the full post.

There is nothing like a orphanage director trying to make everyone feel sorry for her.

    Run…kids…run….

  • Musica1

Kate has always been grumpy in every situation. If she had shown one bit of respect or semi-decent behavior to Jon, she wouldn’t be alone. When we heard that he had had an affair, even my (older) kids said, “We’re not surprised.” Jon was long-suffering with this witch and would sit and quietly take her abuse. He should’ve left her years ago, but probably stayed for the kids. Hopefully the roosters and hens will scratch a little payback for Jon.

*eyeroll* @ Kate’s over dramatizing. WOW! @ some of these comments.

  • wakeforce

Could the tables have turned? Maybe the DWTS gig, designed to endear Kate to the public REALLY backfired! Jon was vilified by the public (rightly so), but we can see why he left her.
I suggest she date Jake from the Bachelor. They deserve each other!

This show should be terminated quickly. It’s totally lost its appeal. I usually watch TLC on Sunday nights, but when I saw Kate Gosselin on the screen, I changed the channel and watched something else. And I didn’t go back to TLC for the rest of the night. The sight of Kate is simply irritating–well, the sound of her is pretty irritating, too.

    • sharsie

any time I see her any show I change the station…enough already!

    • NoChance

TLC got taken out of my channel line up last Summer and it’s been a joy.
      What happened to this network?

  • Kat

Kate is too bossy for me. She doesn’t seem to enjoy being around the kids. Too many rules. He had to ask to run his truck over the hose? What does Kate do when the cameras are off?!!

    • Irene

Can you imagine the next Zondervan book release. A manual on How to hustle to get rid of your husband, hustle churches & organize your life so that it can be Mine all Mine! By Kate Gosselin

  • DB

Ha ha ha that’s hilarious! She’s running 26 acres alone? WTH? That SHREW hasn’t done anything alone for a decade. She has ordered people around to do all her work for years like a slave master. This idiot makes me want to puke. I look forward to the day the kids get older and tell her to GTH

  • Sue1

I did not watch the show, I did not read the article. I just want to say, again– PLEASE stop reporting about her.

    • AliFran

Seriously, how can we make her go away? I’m afraid all the hoopla, even if it is negative, is giving her some kind of value in the media. I wouldn’t think of buying her book and honestly can’t imagine who would. But, should we write TLC? Should we find out who sponsers her shows and boycott? Really, what will end this?

      • Sue1

I think the only thing that will matter, unfortunately, is if the ratings drop on that ridiculous show. The more stories that are written, the more interest in her increases. Even negative interest looks good I guess. I really do wish the publicity would stop, it couldn’t hurt.

      • Irene

I agree with Sue…Kate doesn’t care how she and/or her children are portrayed just wants to keep up this faux celebrity stuff.

I do believe if Kate could get another job in television not using her kids she would. That is the whole thing…she can’t.

  • Amber

I watched the last half hour of the show and was so annoyed by her. She acts like she’s six. She was upset about the hose and how she needed to get away…because the hose wouldn’t turn on??? Seriously, she needs to spend more time there so she can learn to deal with the small things that happen when you own a home and have kids.

  • Bob

When she said ” a one bedroom sounds good now” I had to turn the TV off. This woman clearly HATES being a mom. I hope she has saved some money for those kids to have therapy. I am now officially done w/ TLC as well. Kate is a train wreck I am turning away from. Shame on TLC for continuing to milk this sad cash cow.

  • phar lap jones

Kate is such a sweet, sensitive, misunderstood darling, but she is treated like a running sore, running from herself and society. But what you people who despise her don’t know is that her scab will heal us all.

    • AliFran

Let me be the first to say, “What the H*** are you talking about?”

      • finocchio

        I think he’s being sarcastic.

      • Julie

say what? I don’t think he knows?

    • Carm

And I will be second. What?

      • myjiggajigga

Funny comment! A little to rarified for this crowd, however. They’re reality TV show viewers, and probably not used to non sequiturs.

  • Shelly

Any parenting can look bad when the writer plants the idea in our head to believe it. I’m not a fan of hers and I didn’t see te show, but a lot of things she does, eveyday people do them in real life. If people say they don’t yell at their kids, it’s a lie.

    • BlackIrish4094

Just because that is your experience doesn’t make it everyone’s. I was never yelled at and I’m a father and I don’t yell at my son and he is well behaved. The way Kate behaves is inappropriate for a mature adult dealing with kids who don’t know any better. Have patience or don’t have kids.

    • Roberta

Shelly-We all make mistakes with our kids. Some worse then others. I do not think she is evil, just worn out and feeling defected.

  • Mimsie

Why do I get the feeling that she is actually trying to be nice during filming. One can only imagine what kind of mommie she must be behind closed doors. Those poor, pitiful kids. They try so hard to please her and not have to endure her wrath. It must be truly horrendus. She should be thanking them profusely for all that they have provided her, but do you think she does? No way.

    • mom52

I was thinking the exact same thing. She KNOWS that the cameras are on and still continues to make the appalling statements about how hard her life is, etc. all the while bossing the numerous workmen around. If this is how she acts while on camera, I don’t even want to begin to imagine how she is when they are off.

  • murphy

I also switched the tv off about 3/4 through the program and won’t be watching it anymore. Too much kate being a witch, not enough of the kids. Plus you’d think with Jon having the kids part of the time, she’d relish the time she has with them. Apparently that’s not the case.

  • Anne

I haven’t watched this show since way before Kate & Jon got divorced. I feel bad for the kids, not only for being raised in a fishbowl but most for having annoying Kate for their mom. I love some of the other shows on TLC (Cake Boss, Say Yes to the Dress, and The Little Couple) but anything to do with Kate Gosselin makes me run away screaming.
