I think it is sad that Elizabeth refers to a child as an “it,” and that she wants to compare herself to another woman. It only confirms that John needed to break free of such a jusgmental and scornful person.
I’ll say again and again: I always thought John Edwards was fake.
i’m glad that Elizabeth Edwards is speaking out.Maybe it will help relieve the stress she has been living under.This stress hasn’t helped her cancer at all.Jon Edwards is the worst kind of human being.She was his wife, the mother of his kids, and has terminal cancer. He had to give in to his urges with no thought what this would do to her during this crisis.Rielle is no better than dirt on the ground, but he’s worse because he was the husband and father….he’s no better than dog crap under my shoe!You keep talking Elizabeth…miracles do happen!

Its very sad when we see a marriage break up like this. Its even more sad that our politicians cannot control their own lives, and yet, we vote for them to work for ours??? something MUST change ….

This “amazing woman”, who has a terminal disease should spend her few remaining lucid moments framing a positive environment for her young children instead of trying to “get her story out” or “frame her legacy”. Her cancer is irrelevant in assessing that she is yet another person solely concerned about her social status.
I am shocked at some of the comments here. You may not agree with some of Elizabeth Edwards’s political preferences, or any of her other personal choices, but this is a woman who has suffered the loss of a child, is battling terminal cancer, and has had her marriage crumble to pieces in an extremely public venue. How anyone can lack sympathy for this woman and respond to her in anything but a sympathetic and caring manner is beyond me. I know very little about Elizabeth Edwards, but from what I do know, she is a strong and beautiful human being for handling the adversities thrown her way over the years – and that, above all else, should overshadow anything negative ever reported or said about her.
Why does Elisabeth Edwards feel compelled to write about such personal aspects of her marriage—they both tried to fool the public about the problems with the marriage and fortunately Edwards was not elected president–he is a liar and cheat and fathered a child and denied it—how careless can a person be who wants to run our country—these so-called presidental candidates and wives are just trying to sell you a bill of goods about family values which they are above —I think Elisabeth played the I am a cancer victim card during the campaign as well—getting elected president is very much a family business–does anyone remember John’s $400 haircuts–big grinning idiot
This woman has no class. If she were classy she’d shut up and stay home and live on his millions. Obviously she loves to whine and get attention. A lot of people with cancer and family problems aren’t as lucky as she is. Bet she doesn’t have to worry about insurance payments. I don’t really care, but could having a replacement child have anything to do with her cancer?
