I do not believe that anyone has mentioned the small moment between Vince and his mother when she tries to reassure him that she will be clean for the game. Loved it! Also, I loved when Eric told Tammy who was going to drive to Austin, “I support your decision 100%” What a good husband!
Maybe I’m alone, but I HATE Lyla Garrity. Minka Kelly’s mannerisms drive me insane. I cringed every time she was onscreen in this episode.
I don’t think Tim Riggins is a top 100 of all time TV character (as EW claims), but I do like him, and he can do better than Lyla. She’s way too smug for someone her age.
I loved this show in the beginning and then it started to get boring. I loved Lyla and Tim together; too bad they can’t be on all the time. The football team has no one interesting and I don’t find myself rooting for them. I love the Coach and his family, but we need a new love interest for the daughter now that Matt left for good. All the good ones are leaving, so this show looks like it won’t be around for long. Too bad because it had great potential.
I think it’s supposed to go one more season (after this one) and then that’s it! Bummer!
BRING TYRA BACK.
Two goodbyes is too many! First Lyla, she’s a stronger woman than me, don’t think I’d be able to leave the fine Mr. Riggins behind. Then Matty! NOOOOOO! I was an emotional wreck! Many, many tears! Part of what drew me to this show to begin with, but still hard on my heart!
Amazing moments in this show – very memorable. And I agree that Matt couldn’t say goodbye – his grandmother would not really have let him go. He left knowing she was being cared for. He has had an amazing story arch and Zach Gilford is very deserving of an Emmy. And the lines for Tim – Taylor Kitsch was perfect. Unfortunately these types of subtle performances seem to be ignored by the Emmys (case in point – Kyle Chandler and Connie Britton). And the writing is amazing as well.
love love love…i could watch this show and these characters 4ever
Amazing show. I’m a 42 yr old guy and this is my favorite show on tv. I finally convinced my 16 yr old daughter to watch and she loves it too.
Favorite moment in this show was when Lyla asked Tim “What do you want”. His response of “you” was predictable – seen that in other movies and tv shows, but Lyla’s next line sums the show up for me. “What ELSE do you want?”
That line makes the show real, not a fairy tale. Tim just ‘wanting’ Lyla and Lyla only is nice, but it’s not enough to build a life together. Life is messy and sometimes the thing you want is not the thing you need.
PLUS Tim understood what she was saying with that question and you could see on his face that he knew right then that it was over. Wow.
I was upset at the fact that they did not show Matt and Landry in the final scenes. I was more interested in seeing their goodbyes than his and Julies.
