Wow, Pixar should sue the creators of No Ordinary Family. That’s a wholesale Incredibles ripoff.
Yeah it is and that concerns me, even though I like what I’m seeing in this ad–aside from the lack of creativity, this is the Incredibles without much of a budget…
It’s not that much like incredibles, since incredibles didn’t really tell you how the family became superheros and this one does. Although how the writer of this article could not discern the children’s powers is beyond me, since I got it right away and Kay Panabakers character even said her ability to hear thoughts. The boy obviously got super smarts. Looks cute to me and I will probably watch it since some of my faves got cancelled.
The Incredibles was hardly the first story about a family with superpowers. If anything, this is closer to Fantastic Four, which is amusing on multiple levels. Michael Chiklis was in those movies, and Disney now owns Marvel Comics.
That scene in the preview when Chiklis is shown his lair is what sold me. That and Julie Benz, I’d watch her read the phone book.
Disney owns Pixar and ABC, so either they knew about ABC’s decision to make the show, or Disney just didn’t realize how similar they were.
guess how many minorties i counted???Not many..come on network TV but more than one person on your shows
the only ones that look pretty good are
no ordinary family
body of proof
and mr.sunshine
everything else is lame.
Wherever Dana Delany goes, I will follow…She’s a GREAT actress and I really liked the clip from the pilot.
Uh Ken, Joely Richardson left The Whole Truth last week. Her part is being recast. It was reported last week by Deadline.com
My Generation – No.
Detroit 187 – No.
Better Together – Yes.
Body of Evidence – Meh.
No Ordinary Family – Yes.
The Whole Truth – Yes. (I love a good legal drama!)
Mr. Sunshine – Yes.
According to the info I read on “No Ordinary Family,” the girl’s power is to read minds…which for a high schooler can be torture. And her brother is a long-time slacker who suddenly finds himself becoming a genius but wants to hide it. May look dorky but anything that brings Michael Chiklis back to TV is worth watching.
She also says she can hear thoughts in the trailer…not sure how Ken Tucker missed that.
Thanks for the brother info though. I thought “math-power” probably wasn’t it. haha
I’ll take that “nut-house” over most of this network dumbed-down, skim-milk dreck any day, although I do wish Dana well. We will miss her on DH !!!
“The Whole Truth”?..please rename this show A.S.A.P….it could be the best best show of the season and people will be turned off by the name..it’s terrible
Mr. Sunshine looks hysterical! ABC seems to be doing pretty good lately with comedies. Great to see Matthew Perry (perfect for this part) back on primetime!
So they got rid of “Better off Ted” and will show “Better Together” instead.
A Bunch o’ crap
If Mr. Sunshine can keep up the energy in the clip, it should do very well. Loved Matthew Perry in Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip. Unfortunately, it seemed like I was the only one watching the show. I wish him better luck with the new show.
Body of Evidence? Dumb name but surprised that it really looks interesting. Totally based on Dana Delaney’s screen presence though. Looks like she’ll be carrying the whole show because the premise is pretty boring.
Better together was meh but I’ll still dvr it. Laughed a couple times at the trailer. Otherwise, not much else.
I can’t wait for Mr.Sunshine looks like an awesome show! and I love Matthew Perry!!
