I have really enjoyed watching L&O over the last two years after having lost interest for a long while. This new cast has been great and done well re-energizing the show. NBC sucks for treating the show this way. I really wished they could have gone on another year and given the show the proper send off it deserves. RIP L&O. By the way I have zero interest in watching an LA version of L&O:SVU…please!
I stopped watching it because I kept missing it because it changed nights so often that even now I don’t know when the real L&O is on. It’s too bad. I loved the show, but did not have a chance to get into the new characters. I still loved Waterston, and of course S.Epatha aka Lt. Van Burnen. She was amazing.
i totally agree. networks don’t realize how switching a shows day over and over really kills its fan base. same thing happened with ugly betty. it was 1 of abc’s top shows and it went off the air this year because it was switched 3 times in 1 season
I used to adore this show, but once the characters starting changing and they got all their story lines straight from the headlines, it just got boring and predictable. when the lost lenny, i think they lost the heart & soul of the show.
To Hell w/ NBC. L&O is one of the best shows on TV, and NBC wouldn’t know good TV, if it came up and kicked their teeth in.
Law and Order at its best was superb procedural television. It was a forerunner to every copycat procedural during the last 20 years. Sometimes the storytelling meandered over the years but was consistent for its actors. People like Sam Waterston, S. Epatha Merkerson, the late Jerry Orbach, Jill Hennessy, Benjamin Bratt, Jesse L. Martin, Linus Roache and Chris Noth gave solid performances that gave us a reason to watch. To be on for 20 years in constantly changing current of network tv is an incredible achievement. NBC should have given L&O a much better send-off. I guess they figured since we’re cloning another L&O show in L.A. in the fall, why bother.
I am 31 years old and I have been watching since I was 10 – My love for Perry Mason made this an easy show to watch. Made me want to aspire to be an attorney. Right now I am a paralegal and I am well on my way. Thank L&O – you will be missed. I watched all 3 L&O faithfully!
WHAT THE ZUCK!!
Law and Order was not the bridge between the first and the new breed…the bridge was Hill Street Blues.
Not mention SAM WATERSTON!!!!
Two actors we enjoied on the series were Paul Servino and Dennis Farrina, both could pass for the real thing.
the 1st law and order was and is the best. the other law and order shows only deal with the cops side and very little of the d.a.s.
I am very disappointed that the show was cancelled out of the blue. The season I wasn’t too crazy about was when Dennis Farina played Joe Fontana. He isn’t one of my favorite actors. Other then that I really enjoyed all the seasons. I loved Lenny (the late Jerry Orbach) Briscoe. He added the comic relief to the show. Rey Curtis was the eye candy. I also hope USA picks it up like L & O Criminal Intent. RIP L&O
I will miss Law & Order. Though I can revel in endless reruns. Nothing makes me happier than to see a couple finding a dead body in the street and having Lennie Briscoe be one of the detectives arriving on the scene to investigate!
TNT runs three hours of L&O daily, and I DVR it and watch it when I get home instead of the crap on television today. Actual scripts, location shoots, great actors, and compelling stories have been replaced by reality shows and prima donna rich girls, so, even though sad, it’s not surprising to see a show as great as L&O go. The show really picked up over the last season after getting used to the new characters, and just when it was getting great again the axe comes down. NBC you used to be the only network I watched, now you just truly suck!!!
