Craig Ferguson last night: no audience, one guest, a great hour of TV

Craig Ferguson had no studio audience last night, and only one guest: actor-writer-comedian-polymath and occasional Bones cast member Stephen Fry. They just talked. Read the full post.

I love Craig and loved the show with no audience. Going to his stand up show in Austin tomorrow and I can’t wait!!!

Craig is far more talented than he lets on during his usual schtick on the Late Late Show (author, screenwriter)…this one on one forum really allowed him to revela his intellect. It was a little odd, but I’ll follow along in his experiments anytime!

I can’t believe I missed such an epic episode! I agree that Craig Ferguson is a hidden gem.

Yeah he clowns around but his interviews are far superior to that of his competitors.

Stephen Fry reminds me of Oscar Wilde. Something about him.

Craig is the best at everything. This show was fantastic–as soon as I think I have seen all sides of Craig, he pulls out another one. A brilliant man–a treasure indeed.

I could watch those two chat every day for an hour and be totally enthralled. Fry is so smart without being tedious. I hope he adds this king of thing to his regular mix.

I am not a C Ferguson relative, friend or lacky. I have nothing to do with his show nor his success or failure. With that said, He is the best kept secret of late night tv. I rarely stay up late enough to watch any of them, but on those nights I wake up during his hour, he has me laughing histerically. He is better than Jay or Dave. If he were put on the 10 hour he would still be there pulling good ratings. He has that it factor that you can’t define. None of the others have ‘it.’ Heck Conan was the pits, and if he walkd away with $30 million to him, this guy is worth $100 million. Johnny was a natural. He made you feel very comfortable and his spontaneous timing was side splitting perfect. Craig has the same magic. He can take a funny and make it hilarious. He can take an unfunny and make it funnier than anything being written for the other guys.

wait I just remembered I have a dvr, I can watch every show. DUh!

Behind Craig’s facial contortions and frequent references to body parts lies an analytical, inquiring, deductive mind. One of his biggest talents is critical thinking. During the agonizing months before the presidential election it was Craig who reminded us of all the reasons our country is worth fighting for. A native born Scotsman and American citizen by choice gave me more hope and incentive than anyone and his obvious love for the U.S. made me cry. Craig Ferguson is a man of substance and his shows without audiences and with thoughtfully chosen guests such as Stephen Fry should be a MINIMUM of three times per week.

Just watched the hour long show and loved every minute of it. Perhaps it was because of Fry, but if Craig could find a guest once a month of that caliber I would love it.

Loved the show! Big fan cause he says what he thinks and most times what most of us think. He loves this country and isn’t ashamed to everyone know. Bravo. Hope he does others.

I watched it and I thoroughly enjoyed it without frequently annoying audience that laughs forcibly and frequently without control.

Simply Great Event!! Thanks to PASHA and Green and White for that… We soulhd try to have these kind of sessions in frequent manner. Two things I would like especially to contribute here… 1- We can have kind of sessions in which focus are people more than mentors, and in this session people are just expressing their idea (whoever is unafraid of Idea Theft bug 2.0) and then express his three top priority requirements and reason why they are important a lot for his idea… For example: Person X says I have an Idea: Y and thats what I think about it, thats how I think it can work or thats what I actually want to do with it in first step, next he can express three things he worries most about starting up is: 1. Team, 2. Market Research, 3. Production, so people who are really interested in his idea, or the passion of guy in what he’s talking about, can help him in whatever out of those three they can help in.2. We try to arrange Entrepreneurial sessions to assist people in more specific area they find themselves stuck in, such as we can have sessions completely focused on “How to perform Market Research?”, “How to build your Team?”, “How to face potential Risks?” or “How to Pitch?” etc.I personally believe that after what we have as a Start-up insiders first meet up, more of kind of introductory and generic, now going ahead with these kind of specific sessions will help people a lot to be focused on specific problems and their possible solutions or ways to tackle problem in smart way, discussing different aspects angles of somewhat similar problem. etc.Great initiative! I will say again…, I would love to help you guys in this, in as possible manner as I can.. Just count me in!Cheers!Ali Sohani
