Well, here’s a Law & Order episode waiting to happen…
Actually I was thinking that this seemed like it was right out of The Practice – one of those fantastical things David E Kelley came up with that I would be addicted to watching while at the same time thinking “that would never happen.” But lo and behold, it did.
Law and order episode comment is the smartest statement on here so far LOL
I find not only the story sad, but the fact that some of the comments are not regret over this man’s obvious pain or situation, or not even outrage that he did such a thing (if you are inclined to think it wrong), but instead seem to be anger towards the posting at all. You are upset b/c it will bring up a topic or discussion? That’s weird to me. To think sweeping something under a rug would be better… odd.
Being someone who is HIV poz i h=can can relate to this story. It is a sign of true love and humanity that this man loved his partner so mush that he couldn’t bare to see him in pain. We need to remember that this was at a time where everyone was expected to die and there was no hope. Unless you knew someone back in the day whom was suffering from aids i don’t think you can make the judgement on what you yourself would have done. I know my partner would have done the same thing for me. And thats love.
Well, does it mention anywhere that this was his lover’s wishes? I mean I agree with euthanasia but that’s usually because it’s the person’s choice, in this case, the lover.
I would suggest people watch the 2nd video, as he talks more in depth about his lover that he killed. He actually mentions that they discussed it beforehand.
LOL @ “The doctor said, ‘There’s nothing we can do,’ and he went away. I picked up a pillow and smothered him until he was dead.” Ummm – do we know if the guy WANTED to die?? lol! Sorry, just a little humor. I am all for putting people out of their misery. Look, we do it for animals why would we not do it for PEOPLE?
I’m not very sure on assisted suicide. On one hand I can understand when someone is in pain and very sick that they just want to end it, especially if there really is nothing to be done. On the other hand, it is still taking a life when we don’t know what would have happened otherwise. I’d like to think that if I was in this situation, I would keep fighting to the end but I pray that I never am in that situation.
My big problem with this is I’m not sure telling this secret on air was the right way to go, it is very personal and highly controversial. It seems to me that maybe this guy might have been trying to make a point or create a media storm. I don’t know, I guarantee that this will become big though.
The doctor never reported him and neither the corner. Wouldn’t it have been fairly obvious he was smothered vs. natural causes? Does that mean they’ll be charged with aiding and abetting? Poor people… *Sigh*
I don’t know how anyone can judge this unless we know whether or not the person wanted to be smothered with a pillow. If the person didn’t ask to die, then it’s clearly murder.
