Just had some communication with Better Off Ted star Jay Harrington, and I thought I would share this intel to add to what my colleague Mandi Bierly reported earlier today.
Yes, he’s shooting the NBC pilot Nathan Vs. Nurture, but it’s definitely “in second position,” he says, and is “in no way to distance myself from Ted.”
Harrington told me, “I have had many conversations with [Ted creator] Victor Fresco, and we are both extremely hopeful that ABC will give us [another] shot, so we shall see.”
As chipper and straightforward as the intelligent eccentric he plays on TV, Harrington adds, “Please share my sincere gratitude with the BOT fans that have stuck with us.”
There you have it, fans. Sign the Save Better Off Ted petition, and wish Jay the best.

The thought of losing BOT makes me so sad. I hope ABC gives them another shot.
Well, I’m glad to know Jay will still be on TV if Better Of Ted is canceled but the fact that the new show is on NBC doesn’t give me much hope. Not that ABC is all that better (I’m looking at you Pushing Daisies killer!!!)

The best combination of wit and slapstick since Frasier. I hope ABC gives it another chance. It could be a sleeper hit, or develop a cult following long after episodes air….

This show is awesome and hilarious. Jay and Portia are a great duo i love their banter. and besides i need the show because the title feeds my MEGALOMANIA! I really AM better off TED!
So you’re against what he’s sianyg? You’d rather pay $100 for a text book that gets updated every few years rather than get it for free online and can be updated as soon as the publisher gets the info together so it’s more updated and accurate? I’m glad you have money to afford $400+ in text books every semester. And imagine how much money schools will save. Maybe they could use that to NOT fire most of the teachers due to budget constraints. This guy is not the idiot

Oh? You mean when NBC _finally_ cancelled that long dead horse ‘Scrubs’ for ABC to unncessarily pick up and let it die a slow year-long death? Mmm-hmm. Ted is dead.

Why this clever, hysterically funny show is being wasted in such a terrible time slot is beyond me. It should be on Wed. in where they are currently showing repeats of Modern Family.
I love this show. Is anyone else as frustrate as I am at how networks no longer give shows a chance anymore. If they aren’t in the top 10 in the ratings they cut them without even giving them a chance. Remember a little show calle Seinfeld that had terrible ratings for several years because it was a completly new dynamic but the network stuck with it and did it ever pay off for them. BOT is like no other show o TV and if it gets canceled they are making a huge mistake. One of the best shows on TV right now
They should order a few more episodes and stick it on Wednesday at 8 to fill the slot Hank had.
I hope we see Andrea Anders again soon.
