I love this show and I want it to continue. With that said, ending it next season might be a blessing in disguise. With one more season, we’ll get an opportunity to see the Lions play an entire season well and go to the playoffs, see Julie and Landry off to college, and hopefully see Tim Riggins find some happiness (perhaps he’s parolled from jail and starts building on his land). Maybe its wishful thinking, but I think ending the show next season will make for a nice clean ending.

I thought this was another solid season for the show. I am sad to hear that next season will be the last. At least they are going out on top, in terms of quality. I hope Tyra makes an appearance next season, so they can wrap up her storyline with Landry.

I just watched the premier and already I have this nostalgic sinking feeling in my stomach. The characters seems more like old friends, than any other show I’ve ever watched. I’m going through withdrawl but at the same time knowing that there will be at least one more season… and as much fanfic as my mind can produce. LONG LIVE FNL!!

Does anyone know where they shot this and next season? I know they shoot on location and I have been to the location of the “West Dillon” field, but just wondered where this season “East Dillon” was filmed. Love the show! I hate it when it ends!

      JB,

Friday Night Lights is filmed right here in Austin, TX. The resteraunt that the kids used to hang out, in the first and second season, is, literally, two blocks from my house. The Trophy shop that Buddy Garrity went into, is directly across the street from my apartment…the Lammes Candy where Tammi has a “breakdown” in her car, is just around the block…despite all that, I have only ever seen Amy Teagarden, and Kyle Chandler out and about… the scenes of the Dillon Panthers were filmed at Hermann field in Pflugerville, TX, just about 20 minutes north of Austin, while the East Dillon scenes are shot in East Austin…great to see your hometown in every scene…part of the charm of the show for me…

I wish this show would never end! So great! Season 4 was terrific, though I really miss the departing characters—though I fully agree having lived in a rural small town, teens do “go on” and depart the area for “adult life”. (Though I missed Tyra, I thought the way they played it with Landry sitting in the dark leaving her a cell message was realistic and probable.) Will very much miss Riggins next year–the final scene with he and Lyla was brilliant. Kyle Chandler and Connie Britton are terrific and both deserve Emmy’s, Buddy’s radio show was hilarious, and I loved the new characters and the focus on the African American community who don’t live in the West Dillon country club or economically middle class community. The depictions of African Americans in season 4 is real and what is happening out there right now. FNL is an-time classic, great show! I will jones for season 5 the rest of the year. Looking forward to hopefully a final update of all the characters before the series ends next year.

My dream for next season would be them bringing back all the old characters for one last good bye somehow. More than that, I want to see Jason come back and help Tim get his happy ending, just like Tim helped Jason get his. As corny as it sounds, one last Mexico trip would be awesome.

    Ryan,
Maybe it is the airline you are flying. My wife was going to visit her daughter last August, and got very sick…she had to cancel her trip. The airline would not refund her money, but they did allow her to transfer the tickets to another daughter.

I think season 4 of FNL was terrific…you can just never count this show out. I am hoping that somebody will come to their senses and pick it up for a 6th season. It is a major reflection on just how bad NBC is, that they couldn’t do anything with this show, despite the fact that it has been universally lauded by most anyone, tv viewer or critic, who has watched it.
