During a heated discussion this morning on The View about where the 9/11 terrorist trials should be held, Elisabeth Hasselbeck shouted, “Put Bush on trial!”
“That’s a very good idea, Elisabeth,” said Joy Behar.
The context? Goldberg raised the “hot topic” that the Obama administration is backing away from its decision to hold a trial in Manhattan:
Where, asked Goldberg in her role as moderator, should it be held? Guantanamo?, she suggested.
“A military tribunal,” Hasselbeck shot back — but her shot missed, since the question wasn’t what kind of trial but where. Hasselbeck wanted to start talking about a civil trial versus a military tribunal. “This was being done to expose things about the Bush administration,” said Hasselbeck in response to… well, in response to nothing anyone else was saying. “Put Bush on trial!” she concluded triumphantly. I think she was being sarcastic. But some in the audience applauded.
“Did you lose anyone on 9/11?” Hasselbeck demanded of Behar. “Did you lose anyone you know? Because I did. Thank you. So that person who brought that here should not be tried in New York City.”
Someone get both MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow and Fox News Channel’s Megyn Kelly on the phone — I don’t think Whoopi Goldberg or Barbara Walters (the latter not on the panel today) is able to adjudicate this one…

I’m sorry. Why is Hasselbeck relevent again? Because she was on Survivor?
I really wish I knew the answer to your question….
She is a good talking head
In order to listen to 3 (plus BW)relevant speakers, they tell me I HAVE to also listen to that high-pitched screaming banshee who ranks up there with the other RUDEST speakers on tv. She deliberately talks over the other speakers so that they wont be heard… and then we can’t hear anything for all the screeching! Her tunnel vision and narrow-mindedness DO NOT contribute to rational discussions or debates. Excellent question: Why is she relevant? (…or did I just list all the reasons WHY?!?)
Because she’s blond and pretty. Duh.
Here, here! I agree Heather.Your analysis of her being used to wnnniig with her volume, intensity, and aggressiveness is accurate. She’s the school-yard bully who doesn’t know what to do when someone finally stands up to her.Trump is one thing, he’s over there , not trading blows via the press. Hasselbeck was sitting across from her. Thanks for the comment.
Beats me. I guess she is the only pretty young Republican they thought they could find? I’d much rather listen to McCain’s daughter.
ummm how is anyone on The View relevant????
So you’re offering us 8 minutes of The View and then actually asking us to WATCH 6 minutes of The View before we watch the ladies of The View yell and argue with each other?
I put up a better, quicker clip.
I wish Hasselback would go back to the Survivor Island and stay there.
I’m so glad I’m not the only one who puts up frames rbfoee I have pictures printed for them! I had picture-less frames up in Gigi’s room for at least 6 months rbfoee I finally did anything with them! That was my big project last week editing and printing pictures for all the the frames in our house
Ahhh Ken Tucker, you never fail to kick and trash Elisabeth Hasselbeck whenever you get a chance.
Seriously, I don’t agree with her overall. But your disgusting obsession over her is getting sickening.
This is yet another example why old, senile hags like yourself shouldn’t be near a computer
(not to mention you spelled EliSabeth wrong in the title)
Ken Tucker has a blog. Where’s yours?
It’s not necessarily Ken’s trashing of Elisabeth (I stopped listening him when he continue to recap Jon and Kate+8 when the rest of the world stopped caring) its the fact that Ken actually thinks we should care about what the women in The View think.
And you point and click because you don’t care what the women on the View think?
Maybe Elisabeth’s parents spelled her name wrong.
“Disgusting obsession”, “sickening”, @Vanilla? You’re the one throwing insults. Way to undermine your own argument. I guess intelligent and civil criticism is not your forte.
what a Gunt
She should calm down. She’s yelling.
I dont understand why having lost someone on 9/11 is a necessary precursor to having an opinion about it? She’s as lost as she is diluted….
It doesn’t give her any more say than other people. I lost a family member on 9/11, and I want to see KSM tried in a US criminal court. These people want to be seen as soldiers, and their cause as a war. So why should we give them what they want? I think we need to treat KSM and the others like any other serial killer. No special handling, status or priviledge. But my view has no more importance than the view of Elisabeth or anyone else.
Everyone knows that Bitsy is as dumb as a box of hair.
Yes put Bush on trial, that will solve everything. Suddenly the economy will begin to recover, companies will again start rehiring and our foreign relations will find that gifting and iPod the the Queen of England is charming…seriously we should just dump all of the women of The View on a desert island, that would be an improvment.
agreed. All this bashing on the blog, haha, everyone on The View is irrelevant not just the one Republican, there opinions should not matter and I think they are making America dumber.
Funny that a person who doesn’t know the difference between “there” and “their” is commenting on the intelligence of the nation.
Bravo!
Yea your right if we put him on trial, maybe we will see how much the iraq and afghanistan wars cost, plus tax cuts — yes that cost money plus lost revenue + interest — see how many jobs was shipped over seas, and maybe we can subpoena the billionaires bank records n it willprove they transferred their money out of country
Sick of the bs hear a real conservative

Oh, splendid.. more Hasselbeck-bashing. Tucker is having a slow news day.
Hasselback makes it too easy to bash her.
There’s really no bashing in that post. It just details what happened. The fact that you people read into a recap and claim the writer is bashing EH proves that people see only what they want to see.
happens all the time – people read into things and hear and see what they want to see.
Elisabeth is the 00′s Kathie Lee.
People love to hate her.
Hasselback is way worse than Kathie Lee ever was!
*Hasselbeck-whatever.
I didn’t hear the part about Elisabeth saying “put Bush on trial”. The video stopped before it got there. Can you put a clip up that shows what you were talking about in your piece?
You’re right; my apologies. I’ve embedded a better clip, thank you for pointing that out.
Hasselbeck was obviously given right wing talking points to adhere to, and was incapable of matching them to the actual discussion.
That’s her M.O., and why she’s so obnoxious. She’s completely incapable of producing an original thought.
