I will always remember Conan as a great guy and an amazing entertainer. I will follow him where ever he goes. He helped me through some rough times at University. He made me think about laughter and life. I can’t wait till September.
I thought it was pitch perfect! I’m not a fan of the “m” bear.
(Sorry, guess that’s my age.) I could’ve done w/out seeing HIM – ewww – again last night. With that exception, I have been in stitches and in tears all week. Conan has been on fire!! Dave and Jay were both petty and whiny in their reactions to this debacle. Conan was HILARIOUS and irreverent and original… He knew what buttons to push, but he didn’t cross the line. He made the best of a bad situation and he went out w/class and humor. I am completely baffled by all of this. Conan was set up to fail. (He got the 2nd crack at the day’s jokes. He was following a terrible lead in…. Comparing Jay’s ratings in the time slot to Conan’s was not comparing apples to apples!) What a bad call on NBC’s part!!!! They really backed Conan into a corner. He did something that had to be painful and something that was quite brave in light of what this show meant to him. I know this was about much more than the money to him. Jay is a nice enough guy, but Conan is SO much funnier! He’s sharp as a tack. He’s got perfect timing. He’s self depricating. I’m a baby boomer and I’m a fan. I know my generation is split on Conan, but my son’s generation isn’t. They’re ALL Team Conan. I’ll sure miss this show. Can’t wait to see where Conan pops up again. I’ll be watching.
From another Team Conan baby boomer: your comments are spot on! I believe Jay is a great guy also, but his time is over. (You got to know when to fold, brother.) The final jam session with Max and the other top notch musicians was a perfect way to end things. And to all you Will Ferrell haters: change the channel! He is one of the best in the business! I can’t wait until September when we’ll see the rest of the jam session. GO CONAN!!!
Love you CoCo! I’ll wait til September for you, Conando!
the show ended an hour ago and im still crying
I know so many others have said it, but I thought Conan was very classy tonight, too. I was kind of expecting a lot more jokes at NBC’s expense, not that I would have blamed him, but the way he handled himself was great. It was kind of tough seeing him get choked up, though.
We love U Coco!!! great entertainer, and he just showed how classy he is as a late night host in his final Tonight Show … NBC just lost a rare gem!
i could not be prouder to be a fan of conan. i cannot wait to see what he does next! i’m so hoping it’s a fox 11pm
I can tell you one thing…there is NO way I will watch Leno – late night shows at NBC are out of the picture. NBC showed no class. They are stupid – and even more so, bullies. I hate bullies… You wasted Conan who is a comedic genious. So long…
FUCKING ROCKED THAT GUITAR
Adios Conan!
Conan was too self-absorbed and I got tired of him talking over his guests.
Leno and Ferguson ftw.
Who’s more self-absorbed than that phony Leno? Nobody.
Obvious troll is obvious.
Conan is brilliant and was a class-act to the very end. It was a great way to end the show. I’ll miss him dearly. I can’t wait until September.
Coco, you are a true gentleman. You handled tonight’s episode with so much class and grace. I’ll miss you, and I will take your advice to heart. No use being cynical, we’ll just wait till September. So, to be continued…For now, enjoy your time off!!
I read that Carson died on Jan 23, which is today.
Yes, he did. Five years ago to the day.
Yes he did. And at 1235am last night on January 23rd the Tonight Show officially died.
NBC has made a big mistake. Conan will come back funnier and stronger on a diff network. He has gained a lot of new fans and friends in the celebrity world…team coc all the way
Conan was classy and I admire his attitude about everything. NBC did him wrong.
