TV writers – please study genetics 101 to discover that two BROWN eyed parents CAN NOT have a BLUE eyed child!
I thought two brown eyes parents could have a blue eyed kid if they both had one recessive gene.
Your wrong they can. Each of them would have to have had someone in the family that was blued eyed to get that gene. Its two blue eyed people can not have a brown eyed baby.
I can already tell that Ryan’s character is going to annoy me. Simply because he prevents Baze and Cate from being together. Baze and Cate already have great chemistry.
I’m glad a lot of people enjoy the show. It is better than many others, but for some reason I didn’t like it right away. I might try it again on monday. I loved Gilmore and its wit and this didn’t measure up. I DON’T WANT A SECOND GILMORE at all, but I expected it to be less predictable.
Britt Robertson is an actress with a big future. When they cast this show, couldn’t they have chosen at least one parent who actually looks like someone in the same gene pool? These two dark haired, dark eyed people could not have produced this blue-eyed blonde. Did know one involved with this show take the Mendelian genetics lesson in high school biology? You can’t tell me that Hoolywood has no blonde actors or actresses available. Bonehead move.
I’m still looking for something to replace “Gilmore Girls” in my affections, and this isn’t it. What this is is a show where everybody verbalizes their feelings and situations at any given moment in excruciating detail, in a display of lazy writing that is virtually impossible to watch. Everything’s painful and predictable and none of it has managed to captivate me. Two episodes is all I’m willing to waste on this one. Have fun, y’all. I’m out.
I am a HUGE fan of Gilmore Girls and I also really really liked Life Unexpected. Critics have compared it to Gilmore Girls and Juno and I can see elements of the TV show and movie in LU. Although you couldn’t have expected it to be exactly like Gilmore Girls and Juno. So some elements are the 16 year old pregnant girls. LU has a bit of wit and like Gilmore Girls, it deals with issues and drama with a bit of humour. Life Unexpected also has really good music!
one thing no one seems to be mentioning is the casting, which – apart from Brittany Robertson – is rather unfitting. i like Shiri Appleby, but she’s still to young to pull off a 32-year-old (teenage) mom role. it’s too early for her, she should stick to playing daughters, older sisters and maybe a mother of a toddler, but NOT to a teenager. and Kris Polaha is too.. ‘sly’ might be the word, for my taste.
imo, the parents should have had a bit more ‘adult’ feel to them, even though they’re supposed to be fun-loving care-free grown-ups..
I love the show. I am hooked I have watched both episodes many times online. As for the light hair with two dark haird parents it happens. Both of my parents had dark hair. My mom is Italian with olive complection. I came out a white blonde with blue eyes. Also I think the reason Cate went pretty much from Baze’s bed back to Ryan is she told Lux she would have a family. By marrying Ryan its her way of giving Lux a mom and a dad to live with
Loved it! Hopefully they give it a chance before pulling it.
The girl who plays Lux is soooper precious… and I LOVE this show!!!
I watched the 1st and 2nd episodes. I was blown away at the twist near the end – I was completely thinking one thing, and then Lux does something so vastly more thoughtful, caring, and mature! I love this show and will love watching the characters grow. I don’t know how Ryan is ever going to fit in long-term, though.
Really liked it. This is a serious subject but I hope they keep it somewhat upbeat and fun during their problems that they are surely going to face.
I was watching the WB in the days of The Parenthood, The Steve Harvey Show etc. My favorite CW show Seventh Heaven. Life Unexpected is good it will never compare to Seventh Heaven
I think Anita Sandora should watch this show too. She dresses like people on that show.
love it… but gilmore girls can never be replaced, i miss it so much
