'The Jacksons: A Family Dynasty': A big family mess

The first two hours of The Jacksons: A Family Dynasty, which aired last night, was rather sad, and I don’t just mean because it reminded us all over again what a void the death of Michael Jackson had left not only in the Jackson family but on the world-stage.

Begun before Jackson died, A Family Dynasty is now a series of squabbles and desperation-moves, although it’s impossible to tell whether, had he lived, Michael would have taken much of a prominent role in what amounts to a rehab of the Jackson brothers’ faded popularity:

Certainly the Jackson who comes off worst on this six-part series is Jermaine, who blows off a family photo-shoot and flies off to Vienna to promote a Michael tribute concert without his brothers’ involvement (and that subsequently fell apart).

Why did he, listed among the executive producers, even agree to allowing such botches to be included here? I guess the prospect of getting back in the spotlight was too powerful to resist. One thing that seems obvious: I doubt that the other Jackson with a real career, Janet, will be popping up too often on this docu-psycho-drama.

You can read my full review of The Jacksons here.

Did you watch The Jacksons: A Family Dynasty? If you did, having seen it would you watch it again?

I enjoyed the premier episodes. I have watched and admired this “family” since 1968. Of course, Michael has a special place in my “soul” forever, I wanted to see the other “men” and this allows me the opportunity. The media (like yourself) is inundated with liars and warped information. I will be at “1” of their concerts in the future.

    • debra jones

I would’nt go if the ticket were free.

      • Mei

I agree with you Debra! It was a disgrace!! Jermaine is a sick individual!!

      • da

Didn’t anyone teach you, if you dont have nothing nice to say say nothing. Your heart has to be very dark in order for you to say something like that. Please in the future say nothing. God bless you.

    • Mr Quotation

You really have no clue what quotation marks are for, do you?

      • MJ fan

Who cares. This is an informal forum, not a writing class.

      • rosy41

Give us a break; use your educate in the classroom and get off of a casual log showing everyone what a jackass you really are clown.

I watched and it was as good as it could get w/o MJ. MJ will be missed forever. I would rather see them in concert and doing MJ’s songs than a bunch of loser impresonators. I think the writer was too tough on MJ’s brothers even Jermaine is a very sad man who need therapy to deal with his love/hate for MJ.

      • Mr Quotation

“use your educate in the classroom”. Nice rosy41, that was actually a better example of ignorance than the improper use of quotation marks.

      • Blue 22

“Nice rosy41, that was actually a better example of ignorance than the improper use of quotation marks.” Have you ever heard of run-on sentences, Mr. Quotation? What about about capitalizing the first letter of each sentence? I think you need to learn a little more about grammar, sentence structure, and punctuation before you try to correct anyone.

    • alex

      I support you completely!!!!!

    • Jessica

Please do not lump all media together. We’re not all bad, some of us do our jobs honestly. It’s like saying all waitresses are bad at their jobs because you had bad service in the past. We are doing our jobs of informing the public, and the above journalist is simply stating his opinion. This is a free country. He shared his opinion, you can watch the show and form your own opinion. Please, be fair to the “media” and remember they aren’t all bad. God bless you.

      • MJ fan

Thank you for your comment. I agree. Not all media is bad. There are a few bad apples that unfortunately spoil the bunch however, I do try to keep in mind what you’ve said. Thanks again and God bless you.

      • Zac

Even this guy, would criticize MJ
        if he didnt die,
His oppinion are through the tabloids,
whenever he reads the tabloids thats where he gets his picture of MJ from.

besides, I think the journalist rather wanna see Jersey Shore, or Keeping Up with the Kardashians who are they ?,
        famous for being famous ?

The Jacksons actuilly made history, and are living legends of the Jackson 5.

with all the crap on TV today,
The Jackson Family Dynasty would be pure gold compared to them.

      • Dylan

BS. They are all bad. In this day in age,we would think that you ppl would be fair, but clearly you guys are not. You all are biased, self asorbed and take everything out of context. You ppl pay your so called sources from under the table and report it without any validity what so ever. All you ppl do is take BS information, pay ppl for it even if it’s not true to just try to get a pulitzer. GTH

      • Mark Sheppard

If the media weren’t so awful..why don’t you track down Jordan Chandler and televise his admission of the fabricated molestation story?
Oh I forgot none of you are allowed to print anything positive about Michael ….thank God for Aphrodite Jones!

    • Grace12_34

Jdiane, I totally agree with you. I LOVED the show. Maybe the title of this publication should have a few more “w’s,” as in EWWWWWWW.

    • Grace12_34

Tito was interviewed on the Tom Joyner Morning Show today. He said the reason why Randy hasn’t appeared is that he is camera-shy. He promised to make a “cameo” appearance that “The Brothers” intend to hold him to.

    • N2TRRT4U

What I don’t understand is why isn’t Randy in this? He took over when Jermaine left and he is part of the J5 reguardless. I just feel that he is being left out and he is also an important part of the group and family. Im just saying.

    • Gloria Riggs

I love the show and saw every series as well as tapped them. I can wait for the 2nd series. I am to mature to listen to the negative crap presented by the media. Those that work for the media are very unhappy people and they get a thrill by hurting others. They said things bad about MJ, they hurt him deeply. I don’t expect anything good to come from the media. I have always loved all the brothers not just Michael. I will definately attend a concert by the brothers, Iam a die hard Jackson. Keep the show going we love you.

      • James

        Here, here!!!!

  • jackhart

ok .. why are they promoting themselves as the jackson 4? when randy jackson is still a viable musician

    • slip’n'slide

That is a brilliant idea. :) I think someone should approach him with this idea. Not sure how busy he is with American Idol these days.

      • Happy

Wrong Jackson, that Randy Jackson is not one of the brothers. I hope that you were joking

      • Maurice

LOL! I needed that laugh. Even if it was only a joke. (And I seriously hope not. It seems so much funnier if sincere. Not trying to be mean, it was just hilarious).

      • amye

Actually, the first commenter is right and the second is wrong.

There IS a youngest brother named Randy Jackson who replaced Michael in the mid-80s.

And yes, he is a musician.

      • andy

is it the same Randy on idol as in the Jackson5?

      • T

NO. it is not the same Randy Jackson as on American Idol.

      • Jaybe

To all of you who do not know who Randy Jackson the youngest of the Jackson Brothers is, just look at the photo on the video clip above, he is the heavy set balding brother at the front of the coffin

      • MJ fan

Actually Amye you are absolutely WRONG! Randy didn’t replace Michael but Jermaine when they left Motown and Jermaine opted to stay with Motown. Further more it wasn’t the 80s but the 70s when they went from Jackson 5 to the Jacksons in which the 2nd to the youngest Jackson join his brothers. If you are going to contradict someone, please get your facts straight. Personally, I wish Jermaine just disappear and I doubt that anyone would noticed.

      • Nikki

Oh my god, how stupid can you be. Oh, I’m sorry. Maybe you’re only about 7 years old. The Randy Jackson on American Idol IS NOT the same Randy Jackson from the Jackson 5. I thought EVERYONE of EVERY AGE knew that by now!!

    • tbm

why do you assume Randy (Michael’s brother Randy, not the American Idol judge Randy) is being unfairly excluded? He obviously didn’t want to participate in the media whoring. Good for him! He said so on his Twitter.

      • andy

Randy never replaced Michael. He replaced Jermain who stayed with Motown. Randy played the drums.

      • Yolanda

I’m glad he didn’t. This is just an incredibly tacky tacky show. Even if Michael hadn’t died, this show would still come off as a desperate attempt to suck the notoriety out of their famous brother.

      • T

If Mike hadn’t died, there would be no show. Who’d care enough to watch it? I mean, be serious.

      • dd

Randy Jackson said on his tweeter the he CHOSE not to be on the show. He also mentioned that he is not going to allow his family to forget that there is still an unresolved murder.
In my opinion, I think Randy has a beef with Jermaine. Jermaine married his ex-wife after he divorced her.
Both brothers have children with that same woman!!!

      • Theresa

I thought they did a good job their not perfect and it shows that!! Randy choose not to be a part of the show!!! And for the person that said that randy replaced michael… Randy joined the group after they left Motown and sighed with CBS epic so he replaced jermaine not michael!!!!

      • mike

to “T”…i believe there are quite a few people who would watch this show. i mean if “Being Bobby Brown” could get high ratings, this show should have no trouble especially given that it’s on a more recognized network.

      • Nikki

Good answer. THAT’S what I was hoping because they are SO raping the memory of their deceased brother & his fame with this awful “reality” show. I hope Janet doesn’t show up on there either. She’s got enough problems just trying to actually sing! =)

    • mddiva

Randy was not a member of “The Jackson 5″, he joined when they left Motown for Epic and became ‘The Jacksons’. They mentioned in an interview that Randy is trying to solve MJ’s murder. Whatever that means.

      • debra jones

if jermaine married his brother wife he’s sick and so is she her
thought were that she thought jermaine would be another micheal
she got that wrong they need to
        be ashamed of themselves especially
jermaine your star has died so stop
trying to live in micheal starlight .

      • Paula

I actually have a magazine which shows a young Randy picture as Michael and Randy Jackson from Idol as Michael’s brother Randy.

There are a gazillion pictures of Michael and he can’t be mixed up with his brothers because he is the only boy in the family who has large eyes like his sisters. The magazine owners were so greedy trying to make money after Michael’s death that they did not even check the pictures, which was given to them from another company, to make sure they were of Michael and Randy Jackson. Not only that I don’t believe they knew the difference this is the second time I have seen someone mix Randy and Michael up eventhough they don’t look alike.

    • Liz

I watched the brothers on Larry King and they said Randy did not want to be a part of the documentary.

    • sharon

if you are a true fan you would know that Randy Jackson (not the randy jackson from american idol,)is indeed part of the Jacksons…strange he was not on the show….anyone knows why??

      • MJ fan

Randy didn’t want to be part of it.

    • KY

I REALLY DON’T THINK RANDY WANNA BE AROUND JERMAINE TOO MUCH UNLESS IT’S A HAVE TO CASE CAUSE OF WHAT JERMAINE DID TO HIM INCASE U DONT KNOW HE MARRIED HIS WIFE ND I THINK HE HAS LIKE 3 KIDS BY RANDY’S EX-WIFE WHICH HE HAS 2 BY HER AS WELL

      • Ugh

        yeah, I read that years ago…she’s a whore and that’s nasty…their children are siblings and 1st cousins…UGH!!

      • blah

It wasnt Randy’s ex-wife that Jermaine is now married to. It was actually the woman that he was cheating on his ex-wife with that Jermaine is now married two which is still SICK!! But it does show the type of woman she is, if you want to classify her as a woman still for sleeping with a married man, have his child and then go an marry his brother who she has an additional 2 kids for.

      • Tameka

Randy Had an affair with this woman & married her one year after their divorce she married Jermaine.People always said MJ had issues, well to marry your brothers wife is soooooo Daytime TV!

    • Alyson Breckenridge

they said they were promoting themselves as the Jackson 4? I missed that part.

    • Lady

Randy wasn’t apart of the original Jackson 5 though. It was only Mike, Jermaine, Marlon, Jackie and Tito. Randy came in only after Jermaine left the group and stayed with Motown. I got the feeling that Jermaine is trying to be more of a solo project than a family project. I honestly don’t think they’re trying to feed off of Michael’s death. They all fell from the same tree and started this phenomenon Michael just took it further and became the world’s best entertainer hands down. The way I feel, the Jacksons are music royalty especially for blacks. I would have watched the show before Michael died but in a way it gives the fans kind of a special privilege and let’s you see how they’re coping with Michael’s death. I’ve always loved Jermaine since i was “yay” high lol but he seemed self absorbed and I didn’t really like that.

      • Theresa

I totally agree with everything you said!!!

      • Paula

I have always believed Jermain was jealous of Michael because Jermain was suppose to be the lead singer, the group started out with just the 3 older boys, they thought Michael was to young to join but when he did join the group, history was written, their first his “Big Boy” was awesome, so Jermain and Michael were both considered lead singers. Jermaine I believe sang only one lead song with the Jackson 5.

Michael’s singing was so good that it sent the Jackson 5 flying. Michael’s singing was what made the Jackson 5 group different from the Osmond Brothers.

      • MJ fan

True. Michael also moved the best of the brother’s. As a boy he was a keen student of James Brown and the way he moved. Early on you can see Brown’s influence in Michael’s foot work and spins.

      • esha

I’m with you, Jermaine does want to make this a solo project, but it’s not about him. It’s about them and if he wants that then he needs to go do a solo CD. I really think the other brother wanted to jump on him a number of times. I really enjoyed the show and I want them to do another season.

      • Carolyn Jackson

No relation to the Jacksons, but i have always been a hugh fan. i love the show, i hope it last, better than most i have seen. atleast they have morals & they are intellegent guys. maybe most of us, is just use to all this ghetto mess.

    • Sheila-Marie Brown

The are just “The Jacksons” Not the Jackson 5, or 4. When they left Motown, Berry Gordy sued over the use of the “Jackson 5 ” name, since he claims he invented it. They have been The Jakcsons ever since. Also, I don’t think Randy wants to be involved.

    • Vicky

Maybe Randy doesn’t want to be a part of it. But I was wondering that as well why he wasn’t in it. No one even mentioned him. Weird.

      • Justin

He didn’t want to be involved in the T.V. show…especially while Michael’s death is still being investigated.

    • Preston

Randy Jackson is NOT related to the Jacksons. Because they have the same last name, you jump to conclustions that they’re brothers when they’re really not. Randy’s too booked up with American Idol right now.

      • mike

are u being serious right now? ur thinking of a completely different Randy Jackson. the Randy that they’re talking about is the youngest of the boys and officially replaced Jermaine when the Jacksons left Motown back in 76. he played the bongos with the Jackson 5 from about 1972. lol wow u really sounded sure of urself there too. i understand he isn’t exactly the most famous of the brothers, but there’s gotta be a reason people kept bringing him up lol

      • LORNA

THE RANDY ON “AMERICAN IDOL” IS NOT THE RANDY THAT IS RELATED TO THE BROTHERS..DUH!!!

      • MJ fan

………If you read on, several of the posts in this blog do mention the difference between the 2 Randy Jackson’s. This subject is getting hammered to death……

      • Tameka

Do a google search please!..Two different people.

    • quick12

      say what

    • Jason

You’re kinda young aren’t you, I think they are talking about Michael’s brother Randy, not the gut from Journey and American Idol.

    • Yvette

I would think the reason the reference of, “The Jackson 4″ is used is because they are the surviving members of the original members of the Jackson 5 we know from the 60′s.

  • tbm

you need to look up the correct usages of quotation marks. why is your “soul” fake?

  • bobbysgirl

I enjoyed the series so far. It seems real “The Brothers” all have distinquishing personalities and they can still move. I watched the media destroy Michael and mis-represent this family and the truth is they are normal and the media is still trying to make a mockery of them. I know they love their brother but they also lost a career while Michael gained one so I have no problem with them trying get their shine on for once. I am sure they love Michael a lot more then the media who called him Jacko, dont try to uphold Michael now. If anyone should “cash-out” on Michael (which I dont believe they are) then it’s his family they have more of a right then anybody else. I am not saying is right but they were a part of the Jackson 5 too. They worked hard too!

    • Serenity10

AMEN! Bobbysgirl, you are right on. At last somebody with some common sense!

    • What!?

Normal they are certainly not. They all still have a child’s mindset. This show sheds a better light on how they were raised and the “men” they have become. Hell, Michael’s behavior is understandable in the midst of this ridiculous mess. They are 50-60 yr old babies. I blame Katherine, even more so than Joe. Some mother’s will suck the life out of their sons, some will cling more (Micheal) but a mom can destroy a boy’s journey into man hood like nobody else.

      • ThankYou

What!? Thank you for your comments. I always condemned Joe Jackson for the way he abused and exploited his sons when they were children, for money and personal attention. But I also condemned their mother for letting it happen. When I finally downloaded interviews with the family, after Michael died, I remember she said she cried for two weeks when Rebbie got married and how it was hard to let her children grow up. That Marlon eloped and didn’t tell his parents for a few months, all the while continuing to live at home, speaks for itself. Anyone who raises children knows there is a sadness in realizing they will grow up and leave the nest. But there is always an enormous responsibility in knowing you must prepare them to take flight and become emotionally healthy adults. There is a lot of pride when you see your children live successful, productive lives. Katherine failed to accept that responsibility. Look at the way poor Michael’s mind imploded, on the way to what could have been a healthy embracing of the adult world. Think of how much more music he could have produced if he hadn’t had so many personal demons inside of him. Think of how much more of their own music his brothers could have produced.

      • Sara

You can only blame so much on the parents. Adults ultimately have to take responsibility for their own actions despite their upbringing. Are we to go back to Katherine and Joseph Jackson’s parents and blame them for how their kids turned out?…and what about a generation before that? Come on…these men are in their 50′s now. With their own children and grandchildren. They’ve long since been responsible for their OWN actions and choices.

      • moanders@bresnan.net

Please leave katherine out of this. She did a GREAT JOB raising her children.

    • Angie

Bobbysgirl. Yes his brothers were part of the Jackson 5 as well but one thing you have to realize is that Michael gained his major popularity when he went solo which they had nothing to do with. Also without Michael the Jackson 5 wouldn’t have been able to stay afloat as long as they didand yes they worked hard but Michael worked just as hard and they relied alot on Michael and you would know this if you read Michaels one and only true biography “Moonwalk”. Whatever contributions they made to the Jackson 5 group, they were acknowledged for it and got paid for it, no one is taking that away from them. And if they wanted to, just like Michael, they could have went on and did their own thing no one was stopping any of them. I guess they just didn’t have the talent to go solo. And fyi, the only people who should gain anything from his success is his children and just for that reason alone, whether by blood or by anything else. The Jackson 5 is just a small part of Michael, he was a philanthropist, he made amazing music and videos and the credit should be given when it is due. Michael had an enormous career after the Jackson 5 was long gone. you need to remember his success in that manner as well as the Jackson 5, and no one and I mean no one can take credit for that but Michael and ofcourse the people behind the sences which didn’t include any of his brothers.

      • Angie

Going back to my reply to Bobbysgirl, I recant what I said about none of his brothers helping in any solo records that Michael had. In fact I only no of one, Randy Jackson helped him on the Off The Wall album. But that was all that I could find. And Randy is the only smart one not participating in this side show of a series. I also can’t believe Jermain would marry Randys ex wife. I always felt Jermain was too much of a ladys man. How ackward is that to share a woman and to both have children by her. Shame on the women as well. I guess she wanted to make sure she was well taken care of by double dipping.

      • Sara

To Angie: “Double dipping”…that’s sooo hilarious!!!

      • Paula

A Biography is when someone writes about your life.

An Autobiography is when you have written about your own life.

        Michael wrote an Autobiography.

      • MJ fan

“Moonwalker” is the only AUTObiography written by Michael Jackson.

    • debra jones

you sound like your a plant for
the family the show was embarrassing and i think they are
trying to ride on Micheal coattails.

    • Vicky

Yes they did. But, Michael was the STAR!! Their mother was right. Michael was SPECIAL indeed. He is and will always be missed.

      • leeny

Michael was the star of the show, but if it were not for Tito, it would not be a Jackson 5, remember Tito was the one that captured Joe’s heart after he saw how good he played the guitar is when Joesph started the group. I think Joesph did a good job with these boys, molding them to be famous. I love the entire family, but Tito is the reason for the Jackson 5 according to the movie “THE AMERICAN DREAM”. I wish the entire
        family many blessings and success.

  • Theresa

I loved seeing the brothers rehearse. Hey Jackie, I like Jermaine’s vocals on that track you should of not had it erased even if you guys were not going to use it, that was not nice, LOL…Wishes big things for this family in the future….I know it’s hard losing a sibling I lost my sister in 1992, and I still cry sometimes about her it’s only normal…Best wishes to you all…Media leave them alone!

  • Evenbetta

I loved the show, Jermaine TRUE colors are showing ever so brightly. He’s always wanted the damn limelight and it shows much more so here, who caught the part where his wife puts on his black and white shoes? GTFOH…. He’s a HOT F’n MESS.

    • DLL

Right! And what’s with all the crying. Man up you madethe decision to stay with Motown. Get over it already. Just didn’t / doesn’t have the chops.

    • Angie

Hey evenbetta, I agree. He needed to put his own damn shoes on. I can see what kind of relationship they have. Just as Jermain said she is his caretaker.

      • Sara

        Amen.

      • DKS

Did anybody else notice how everytime she kissed him he looked like he just tasted something nasty? LOL

    • Nay Nay

I also noticed how he belittles his wife. He treats her like a maid.

  • missy

I get the idea of making lemon out of lemonade, but quite frankly this just seems like a group of has-beens trying to cash in on the Michael Jackson fanfare to reclaim their lost “celebrity.” Nobody cared about Jermaine Jackson when Michael was alive. Why should we care now? I mean, these are the same guys who wore sunglasses to their brother’s indoor funeral. I will give them as much attention as I give to Frank Stallone, Ali Lohan, and Haylie Duff…None.

    • DLL

Hahahaha, you forgot Patrick Swayze’s brother. That’s hilarious. Haylie Duff.

    • mykey716

So true! Like the Supremes, one member was truly remarkable and able to start a solo career. Michael was a phenom. The rest of the Jacksons didn’t have his talent. Even Jermaine’s solo career never came close to that of Michael (and I believe he has resented it all these years) As far as I’m concerned, this is just a last chance to try to get back in spotlight and attempt a comeback that is just not going to happen. It’s a shame that Janet & Randy didn’t try to stop this. As Bette Midler would say, ‘Mud will be flung, tonight!’

    • DT

Amen, Missie! Jermaine is a hot mess and always has been. Most groups have a member whose talent begins to shine more than that of the other members. Michael’s talent was there for all to see from the first moment he stood before a camera. I think that it’s sad when any person or persons try to hang on to the past and re-invent themselves way past their time. Shame on the network that aired this. They are the real media whores here. Without the untimely death of Michael, no one would have even aired this series. Seeing what’s become of the brothers makes me miss him even more.

    • mike

hey hey hey… in all fairness… Frank Stallone can sing! lol

    • smart0320000

I’ve watched the show and loved it. First of all, they are NOT doing the show to bank off of Mike’s death. The show started back in January. Mike knew all about it. It was a way for the brother (J5) to celebrate their years in show business. I think they are all very talented – not as talented as Mike but still the same, they deserve to be seen too. Far to often, they stood back and let Mike shine. Each one has his own career. You can see that they are NOT hurting financially. Their money was invested very well. Check out their homes. Marlon is not traveling all over the world on peanuts. Michael even said himself that their dad did not squander their money, but on the contrary, managed it very well for them. When they became adults, they all had a significant amount of their money to live on. I said all of that to say that it is so easy to criticize everybody for everything. Hey, the jackson 5 was a very viable group. The true “old- school ” J5 fans are not judging ,but are supporting. All of the brothers rock. I have some problems with jermaine, but i believe that each brother was given a chracter to portray in the series. You have to have drama in every series, and Jermaine broguht on the the drama. I love me some MJ. but I truly support the jackson brothers as well. I wish them all well. When they cut their new dingle, I WILL BUY IT.

      • smart0320000

SO SORRY FOR THE TYPO ERRORS:(
        character, not chracter
        brought, not broguht
        single,not dingle

  • Vel Holman

First and foremost, Jermaine needs to wash the lard out of his hair. I watched the show out of morbid curiosity and I probably won’t watch it again. I agree that this program reeks of desperation. Mike WAS the Jackson 5 and promoting themselves as the Jackson 4 is just wrong…

  • jojo

I am not a reality show proponent, but this was a great representation of a family trying to overcome the loss of a loved one. I will keep watching!

Jermaine has been waiting all these years for his chance in the spotlight. Unfortunately, now he will get it. It is sad to see the Jackson’s profit off of the death of Michael. Sad, sad, sad.

    • MJ fan

True. Someone else mentioned that if Michael were still with us the show would barely be noticed. And yes, Jermaine has been in the spotlight alot over the last 6 months in a way he hadn’t been before. I felt he handled the initial announcement of Michael’s death very well and stayed away from speculation. Unfortunately his “score-card” also has a lot of negatives on it right now. Examples:
Jackson Reality Show? -JJ comes accross diva-ish.
      Venice concert? -canceled.
      Bury MJ at Neverland? -canceled.
Claiming Evan Chandler committed suicide over MJ’s death? -total speculation.
Claiming Jordy Chandler has admitted to lying about MJ? -wish it were true but total rumour.
Recommended Dr. Tome Tome to MJ as a financial advisor 2+ years ago. -creepy character.
Although Tome did help save Neverland for MJ, MJ became afraid of the guy and fired him last May.
I don’t think Jermaine’s a bad person but I do think he has issues.

      • Brother’s

        Vienna not Venice.

      • Zac

Big big mistake, Claiming Jordy Chandler admitted to lying about MJ,
        is right.

But Evan Chandler shot himself in the head.
For whatever reason it might be.
        we would never know it.

  • Sad & Disappointed

They are all UGLY, OUT OF SHAPE OLD HAS BEENS.
A&E, you better protect your reputation because the Joseph Jackson Clan is about to bring you down. DOG THE BOUNTY HUNTER IS BAD, BAD, BAD, ENOUGH !!! CHECK YOURSELVES. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH.
UGLY, UGLY BOYS…NOW UGLY, UGLY OLD MEN !

    Stop the Madness, Please.

    • QuixoteCAM

That’s the most ignorant remark I have heard in quite some time. I suppose you’re a gorgeous, gorgeous whatever. People with ugly personalities are the ones we have enough of.

    • Kelly17

What a stupid comment. I am tired of people hiding behind their computers being so utterly rude. When did so many in America become so hateful and vile. Just disgusting.

    • Sara

I agree with QuixoteCAM and Kelly17. Sad & Disappointed: I’m sure you’re no improvement over the Jackson brothers.

    • Retta

I really enjoyed the first night of the Jacksons reality show. I was glad to see them back in the spotlight because of the absence of Michael, who I admired a lot. I wish the Jackson Family the best and much success. To all the Haters out there get over it the Jacksons are back.

    • Kiki

Jackie Jackson has always been and always will be fine! Whether he’s 59, 60, or 65, he’s still fine!

      • Tia

        You go girl!!!

      • leeny

I totally agree, I think Jackie is
        handsome for his age.

    • Josephine

Sad and Disappointed. Ugly and beauty are just matters of perception. For this, I really dont care what you think about looks. I wish your comments had some substance! You are so disappointing and you make me SAD!

    • karen

UGLY?? Not at ALL…they are middle aged men & I think they look great! AA men age well, when they take care of themselves & this clan has very good genes. I enjoy the show & i see a “family” not a HM like the Osbournes, Kardashians,Hiltons…to name a few. I think they look delicious!!!They were raised well & it shows! LOVE< LOVE LOVE the show!!!!!!!!!

  • Louis

I liked the show. I like all of the brothers exept Jermaine. I think Jermaine needs a makeover and needs to stop trying to be the star. Although he was popular back in the day, No one will ever be able to fill the shoes of Michael. If the brothers just be themselves, I believe they can make it, after Jermaine gets a haircut and stop all the foolish black shoe polish.

    • debra jones

      that’s funny.

    • MJ fan

Is it just me or does Jermaine’s face look like old leather with layers of polish on it?

      • Saraiyna

In the words of Chris Rock : “Is it just me or is Jermaine the greasiest ***** you ever seen??”

    • Ann

I totally agree. I have come to like the show. You see all their personalities: Marlon the business man, who I know has always been involved in non-music projects, still marrried to same woman “amazingly”, and kind of stay in his own world. Tito who never really left the music business, you can now see his guitar talent, and he’s really into the blues. He’s seem to be just focused on that and I don’t think he or Marlon could care if the show stopped today. Jackie just seems to go with the flow. Probably the most soft spoken of the brothers (they all talk soft like their mother). I had heard he was living with his mother, but it looks like he has his own howm, but that was internet rumors which I don’t go by since it is just hearsay and if you don’t live with these people, you really don’t know. Jermaine: really needs to change that hairstyle (it looks froze in time) and get a skin peel to smooth that fax (I don’t know what happend thru the years). He loves his brothers as you can see, but if opportunity comes that concerns just him, he will be gone. He could have made Tito’s performance. I supported him when he had Michael’s back and his grief after his death, but he needs to check himself about his motives, and include the family in on those projects that involve Michael’s legacy. He’s seems to have made himself the family spokesman. I use to have such a huge crush on him in the 70′s then he married Hazel Gordy and just broke my heart. I think he regreted staying with Motown even though he had a “modest” career. They all have their faults like the most families in the US, except they are in the limelight. I think they all just need to continue what they have been doing without Michael’s help and legacy and be successful at what they were doing this whole time before his death. I think this show just is giving them money they probably need. Like I heard Katherine say about Michael didn’t need them ,but the brother’s needed him, it was true then and true now.

  • Susan

This show is like watching a train wreck. If anyone had any doubts that Jermaine was a egotistical idiot, this show show should stop that debate. One thing is for sure. I’m sure they will keep interjecting Michael’s name in to it as that is the only way they will get ratings after the morbid public curiosity is over

    • Tameka

The show is not like watching a train wreck “hater”…It gives the public a chance to see the brothers as they are now real people, but Jermaine seems to have issues.

  • Heaven

I really enjoyed the show. Do any of you guys take into consideration the fact that they started shooting this show before Michael’s passing? How will they wanna cash in on Michael’s death when the show started before Michael died. You people should be honest with yourself for once and give these talented human being a chance. I look forward to the 3T album coming up in the summer…

    • Angie

Heaven 3T is corny. I also think that not everyone thinks they are doing this because Michael died but because this is an attempt to gain fame and to distract people away from Michael which will never work. I believe that they do have jealous tendensies and as I stated before, no one stopped them from doing what Michael did which is to go solo and continue to make great music. But they choose not to. The date of the airing is also suspect because they started this around the same time Michael was going to have his comback tour. Go figure.

      • mike

i agree… 3T?? lol but about ur comment on the brothers having the opportunity to go solo… Randy and Marlon actually did attempt a solo career and it went nowhere. lol u can actually find a couple of their music videos on youtube. obviously Jermaine hasn’t had a hit since the 80s and everyone knows he was jealous of Michael. just listen to the flop he released in 1990 called “Word to the Badd”… talk about garbage. i don’t think many people have heard that song.

      • MJ fan

Yes, but Michael’s tour would have been on break from October until early January…if it would have ocurred in the first place that is. I doubt he would have been part of the show but it would have been possible.

      • Zac

3T is corny ? are you kidding angie.
I dont know how old you are but
3T had hugh hits in the 90s.

    • debra jones

you will be the only one.

    • Josephine

I like your comment Heaven because you have a sense of fair judgement in you. It is unbelievable people have forgotten the show started recording even before MJ’s death. Lets put it this way: When you are so talented, famous, daring and get a lot of attention, you are a threat and some jealous people tend not to like you. Remember the negative publicity MJ received before he died and now same people express love like never before. Remember when Janet was given negative publicity… wadrobe malf**** whatever they called it. Now it is Jackson brothers and Katherine! People should come back to their senses! I believe they will start loving Jermaine after his death like they are doing to MJ but failed to give him love when alive. They mad MJ miserable and now they want to start doing the same to the entire Jackson family. Do you think Randy and Janet are happy to hear things you are saying about their brothers? People, would you take one minute to be nice? That would make the WORLD A BETTER PLACE FOR YOU, FOR ME AND THE JACKSONS FAMILY. This is what MJ would like to see if you really love him.

      • kdm

Ever thought how much tabloids pay for these comments? The Jacksons are here too stay! You just can’t throw away forty years down the drain. Why diss the J5? True I’d like too really know why Randy isn’t with them. The comment “he’s shy” too me don’t fly. He’s been on TV all his life and now to do a few live shots cause him too be shy. No Way! Something is not right. I have all the 1970′s shows and concerts and every TV special from the 60′s too the 80′s. Randy is on camera dancing, playing, singing and enjoying it. He even had solo spots on the Jacksons Variety Shows. He’s not shy! Jermaine on the other hand is doing what he should’ve been doing all along. Leave him alone! You do remember he made some serious hits as well. “She’s Good” 1970, “I Found That Girl”, Daddy’s Home, “Let’s Get Serious, ” You’re In Good Hands”, Dynanmite, Duets with Michael, Whitney and many others. Leave them brothers alone. What Would You Do, if it was you and your family. kdmpublishing@juno.com

The “drama” is rather tame and pretty boring. The show is highly edited and doesn’t leave you with much to go on. I’ll continue to watch because “you never know” what might happen but I doubt it will be picked up past the 5 episodes already shot.
