So it turns out Saturday Night Live was saving most of its Kanye West-Taylor Swift jokes not for Swift, but for this week’s show hosted Read the full post.

Ken- thanks for the heads up about the Billy Smith skit. You can watch it by itself on Hulu. I love Armisen’s Weekend Update characters. I’d buy a dvd collection of just those. At least now I don’t have to watch anything else from last night.

I really had my fingers crossed that the SNL writers would bring their “A” game for this episode. They had a lot of teens watching because of TL, and could have truly added to their audience base. Whoops! They blew it. Taylor was a lot of fun to watch. He is talented, and seems to be a very likable young man. He made the show
watchable. (I thought Bon Jovi was boring).

Totally felt sorry for the dude…..very unfunny trying to be funny……he should have performed all his skits shirtless…then it would have been more fun to watch and make a whore of himself.
BTW…..New Moon is totally over…like 10 days ago.

Taylor is likable, charming and funny. I thought his monologue and football skit were pretty good. The Team Edward skit had potential. I think the SNL writing team has lost it’s spark. How many Tiger Woods skits do you need really?

    • Em

You lost me after you said you thought his monologue was good. That was the most cringeworthy thing I’ve seen in a while. The audience was almost dead silent.

I think people here are giving Taylor a pass, he was cringeworthy to watch, the writing was terrible and he looked really nervous in almost every skit. Plus the audience was not into it at all and there were alot of awkward silences where I am sure they thought laughing would occur.

I’m sure they had to keep the writing clean for all the teenybops watching. It wasn’t hilarious, but it wasn’t awful either.

the only show worse than this one was the week with January Jones. she was stupefyingly bad. Taylor wasn’t as bad but a lot of the material was past its shelf life. Kanye is done — let it go. Tiger Woods is getting stale. all Taylor can do is kick and kick. i fell asleep in boredom.

      I CONCUR.

I don’t understand why EW still covers SNL every week, other than because there is nothing else going on on Saturday… Oh, and because the last two episodes have had the girl from Gossip Girl and the kid from Twilight.

EW will use any chance possible to cover these products.

    • mscisluv

EW always covers SNL; stop being paranoid.

      • Frank Anderson

Are you trying to claim they are not obsessed with Twilight and Gossip Girl. You must be blind… or only read a little of the mag and this site.

  • Gary

The writing hasn’t been good on SNL in 30 years. Sad.

  • Sara

The funniest moment was during the Team Edward vs Jacob skit when Taylor said if those are really his abs he should win an Oscar.

    • Jenn

I agree. That part got a geniune laugh out of me. I feel bad for all (most of) these hosts they’ve had. Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Blake Lively, and now Taylor Lautner, come into this with all they’ve got, but the writing is such an epic fail.

    • Senesca Vasquez

Yep, funniest part (actually the ONLY funny part) of that sketch. I laughed out loud too.

  • John

So Teen Wolf is apparently so boring that the writers had to write his opening monologue about his girlfriend? Not a good sign. The writing has been horrible all season, the only watchable episodes have been when the host brings SOMETHING to the table, and he did not. No matter how many different outfits they put him in the awkward teenager character got stale.

  • Karla

I just expected Lautner to be a good looking, but humorless host on the show, but I was pleasantly surprised. Either way, his looks are a nice distraction from the fact that SNL is continuing to go downhill. Here’s to hoping that James Franco will do a better job next week.

  • hilary

i thought this episode was soooo funny….taylor was great!!!!

  • Rainn

I agree with several people on here… Lautner did great for such crap writing

  • Tammy

SNL is just not what it used to be. They just don’t know how to write skits. They don’t know how to write for the host of the week. They think because the host is a teenager they can’t do in depth skits. Taylor was a great host and deserved to have better skits to part take in. And who ends a show with a stupid skit about doorbells????
