Love this show. Love Julianna (stopped watching ER once she left)and, as someone said upthread, her “creamy deliciousness.” That porcelain skin of hers — mmmmmmm.
Not to be too superficial about it, her range of acting is great. The “Make It Stop” scene — even though it was given away in the preceding week’s previews — was heartwrenching and genuine.
Her scenes with Jonas in the courtroom were entertaining on another level. She went from being his stooge to her usual sharp self before the bar. Love the way she finally cut off Jonas and took control.
Well done how she goes from being modern, stylish, stressed lawyer to modern, loving, stressed mom to as, someone else noted, two very realistic teens.
No one has mentioned the Indian actress who plays the firm’s hot, streetwise private investigator, a character unlike any ever on TV. If I needed somebody to get the goods on someone, it would be her.
Also, her rapport with Alicia is terrific.
I’ve grown to like the Carey character too. At first, it seemed as if he would be a one-dimensional snake. And he and Alicia have a good working relationship.
You have to feel for the Florrick’s well-groomed, well-meaning teen son, doing his own sleuthing, trying to show his dad was setup, trying to keep the ugly side of his affair — the photos, the internet news — away from his mom. Meanwhile, the poor boy’s hormones had to be in overdrive when the older cheerleader type was tormenting him on his boyhood bed.
And you had to love the look on Alicia’s face when, in rebellion, her son started playing the Muslim music the girl had given him to put a fright into his parents.
Did anyone else think Alicia was sexually attracted to the hotshot, independent lawyer she shared a case with who turned out not to have a law degree?
love this show each player is well picked for his/her part
most of all is the story itself each week intresting keeps moving leaves you not wanting the episode to end
‘The Good Wife’ is my favorite show of the new season by far. I’m depressed when each episode is over and nothing else that’s new in my DVR excites me. I love the hybrid of episodic and serial elements, the fantastic acting, the writing that includes interesting dialogue as well as good charactization, and the layered central mystery involving Alicia’s husband.
And yes, she was attracted to the socially conscious but not legally a lawyer guy (at least according to the episode descrip[tion on my program guide). I was a bit disappointed that he wasn’t going to be around for a longer arc, actually.
I love this show. It’s refreshing, smart, and just simply good!
my husband and I look so forward to watching The Good Wife-on of very few shows we watch together and enjoy so much
I love the Good Wife! I can’t wait for Sunday night to come…I don’t want it to end either…love love love this!
I’ve been hooked since day one, but very disappointed in Alicia caving in to Will. Peter was wrong but her action was pay back. Still love the show; it’s great.
