close to 11 pm network t.v. is time for A-D-U-L-T-S, period. and the performance did not violate any current standards for that viewing time.

if you value your freedom as an adult to be able to watch grown-up content at that time of the evening, as well as support artistic freedom of expression please contact the fcc and advise them of this:

    http://www.fcc.gov/contacts.html

(there’s an organized effort underway by the christian right to suppress these rights and freedoms. lambert’s their target, and this may very well be rooted in homophobia as well as being anti-semitic.)

What’s the big deal? I think that we are all mature enough to get mad over something that’s unimportant… I thought he did great for his preformance. And lets face it, the American Music Awards isn’t really for kids anyways.

Well let’s see parents had over an hour and 55 minutes to watch sexually explicit performances from multiple singers and if they allowed the tv to continue to play that is on them. It isn’t Janet Jackson’s fault parents let them watch her grab male genitals or her own. It isn’t nake Rhianna’s fault that parents allowed their kids to see her oiled down like a pig on a laser operating table. It isn’t the fault again of Rhianna and Lady Gaga that the parents allowed their kids to see their S&M attire. Perhaps the kids this Christmas will get to wear nude latex crotch straps?

Loved the performance it was new, it was hot and Adam Lambert has edge. Parents get over yourself, turn it off if you can’t handle it and don’t give me you had no idea the show was going to be like that. Five to ten minutes into the show anyone with kids should have sent them to bed or turned it off. Janet Jackson’s shock value performance should have clued you in. Adam’s vocals are what will keep him performing for a really long time. He is a huge break out star. He can change his voice to suit many different styles of singing. He is amazing. His true fans are not leaving, they are backing him up. Just as he backed performances of all the other artists.

This crowd could form an official American Homophile Society. You all think Adam is just so-o-o-o wonderful. I think his actions were gross, whether it was kids watching or geezers like me. Girls and women kiss each other all the time and always have. It’s OK for men to kiss when they’re father and son. It should stop there.

America… switch trash TV off. Forbid it in your home. If Neilsen is really doing their job, the ratings will go down, the money will go away and they will have to keep their sex acts to themselves. Otherwise, America…you get what you asked for.

I agree with the adam fans!!!!! He’s eccentric, theatrical and a performer….. go adam!!!!

I think Adam is one of the most gifted musical performers I have ever seen, his new album is tremendous, and I applaud his total freedom to experiment. People can be way too narrow minded. Remember all of the experimentation many of the iconic rock stars have done, it has always been shocking. His visuals bring performance to a new quality level of entertainment, and were never designed to market to children! Please! (And I’m 55 with my own kids!) But I have to say, the way CBS handled his appearance on the Morning Show was a huge marketing ploy for themselves. Two hours of commercials and weather, saving Adam for the last 5 show minutes was a huge waste of people’s time. It reminded me why I never watch this show. Sorry Adam had to be strung along like that!!

In central time zones the show was an hour earlier so alot of teens were tuned in.

    Give me a break!
Why doesn’t anyone say anything about “Eminem” and the lyrics during that song. Adam’s song was tame compared to those. No one says anything about that stuff and it happens all the time.

He wants Glaad to promote his record because of censorship and publicity.

  • The kid here.

You all are dumb…. i am 14 and guess what? I DONT CARE. It’s fine. If you go to public school you learn all about sex by 2nd grade. And if all you guys do is comment on here, thats just lame.

I agree with Kate–it wasn’t on at a time when your kids should have been up on a school night, and they made repeated references to a shocking performance that was coming up, and all of the preceding performers were not child-friendly. I think that, since the performers leading up to Lambert were all sexually-inclined, you can’t just say, hmm, maybe this next one will be Ashley-Tisdale-in-concert. The AMAs are really for pushing the envelope on just how much you can get away with. Letting your kids stay up to watch them is a personal choice, and you could have sent them to bed as you probably should have, or you could have turned off the TV if you were going to get this worked up. I think it all comes down to irresponsibility and homophobia. Sorry.
