'Twilight' cast on 'Jimmy Kimmel Live': Screams, screams, and their best TV interview yet

Jimmy Kimmel Live hosted a scream-filled appearance by Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, and Taylor Lautner last night that proved to be lots of fun even if you’re not a Twilight loyalist. (I refuse to use the term “Twihard” after Jimmy said last night that that was the “worst group name–it’s right up there with ‘Claymates.’”)

As the audience yipped and yelped, Kimmel noted Launter’s pumped-up physique in the movie — he asked the actor if he’d been hit by “gamma rays.” (Kimmel referred to the movie as Vampire Chippendales.) Lautner said the most difficult aspect of his training regime was “putting something in my mouth every two hours.” Tee-hee! Screams! He hastily added that he meant “beef patties,” which really didn’t help the accidental-naughty-factor very much…

Kimmel and his guests, brave souls, allowed the studio audience to ask questions. When one fan, Troy, asked Stewart whether she’d had a swine-flu shot, she said that in fact, she’d just had one the day before, and added, “I’m genuinely freaked out by you right now” for asking such a perfectly-timed question:

Kimmel asked Lautner whether, when he and Taylor Swift are “making out, does Kanye West ever come in and interrupt?”

Jimmy can be forgiven an easy Kanye joke after conducting such an amusing interview.

I watched and I liked…Taylor looked very embarrassed at different points in the inteview which was adorable, Kristen was very good and Rob was great as always…and Jimmy Kimmel is too funny

Is it just me or are Rob and Kristen (especially Rob) two of the most awkward movie actors and actresses in interviews ever? Rob sits hunched over the whole time and has the goofiest expressions on his face. As for Lautner, he’s more self-composed but very young. Odd place to be in to be that popular at such a young age for doing so little. I thought it was amusing how he answered the question about Kanye “Not Yet” It really makes no sense the neither he nor Swift confirm or deny the questioning. It would be much simpler and people would go easier on them if they would. Same for Pats/Stewart.

I was just about to write also that the way Rob sits in interviews drives me nuts! I like what he says, but I get so distracted thinking “SIT UP! SIT UP!” I mean seriously, this guy has a zillion handlers, can’t one of them tell him to sit straight? It looks like he is in pain or has to pee or something!

I agree that none of them are very polished in interviews, but I enjoyed this one more than others I’ve seen. It had a fun vibe, and JK seemed to enjoy having them on. He’s an excellent host, better than most of the dorks out there (I’m looking at you, Jimmy Fallon).
By the way, how creepy was the guy who brought up KStew’s swine flu shot? Thought it was a stunt, but no…just creepy!

I agree with you Fallon sucks but with Taylor he did a good job. The Rob is trouble or bother bite is funny

    • Silv

OK, Fallon was quite funny with Kristen Stewart. Haven’t seen any other of his interviews with these stars, but NOTHING was as bad as their interviews on Regis & Kelly. If you’re interviewing someone you should know a little something about what they’re there to promote, but Regis was totally clueless and downright embarrassing. He also never let them finish a sentence.

Yeah, thought the same of when Letterman interviewed Pattinson…Dave seemed irritated and it was tough to watch.

Funny show last night. Having the three of them together was brillent, they look like they were ‘relax’ and enjoying themselfs as when they are alone doing interviews. Rob & Kristen do need a little 101 on how to sit up straight and look up unlike Taylor that has this down like a pro.

Really good interview! Is it just me or has Kristin owned the awkwardness in interviews and made it work for her?

    • BilbrosB4Hos

I agree, I usually hate listening to her, but she seemed to be having fun (for once). Maybe her happier castmates are rubbing off on her? Was funny when she accepted Guillermo’s proposal.

OMG EW, give it a rest already

    • Sara

You give it a rest. Don’t read it! What do you sit at home and wait for them to talk about New Moon so that you can complain. I am so sick of people going out of their way to bash what some people enjoy. I hate Lost, but I get to see the articles on EW all the time. Do I go on them and post rude comments, no. Grow up. It’s so easy to go on a website with a fake name and complain, it’s just pathetic.

      • :D

HOW CAN YOU HATE LOST?! i mean, i am a fan of the twilight franchise, but lets get real here: lost is ten MILLION times better :)

      • Sara

To very happy face haha, I don’t know. I just never got into it. It was the first thing that popped into my head. I am not saying it’s worse than Twilight haha it probably is better I just couldn’t get past the first show for some reason!

  • Anne

Good interview. Kristen will always be awkward and Rob will always sit ‘weird’. That is just who they are…like it or not. The thing I thought was crappy was the fanatic who asked Taylor L. for his shirt. I mean, come on people. Would you like it if someone came to your place of employment and asked for your shirt? Very inappropriate if you ask me. Taylor handled it well though, very gracious. But, you know underneath, he had to have been thinking ‘What the hell is your problem, lady?”. I know I was.

    • Sparky

You are so right. That chic was a feak.

  • adam

Seriously, do some people really react to a movie trailer like that? Are people f***ing insane? I can’t even imagine how some of the fans may be reacting while watching the movie this weekend.

  • Emma

I thought it was quite unoriginal. Rob on Letterman was fantastic. Not that I’m not a fan of Kimmel. He rocks!

  • mememoi

Oh, speaking of awful groups names…I read one on Twitter by a fan of that wee sprite they call “Justin Bieber”. She called herself and her pals: true BELIEBERS.

    *facepalm*

  • Deb

Ithought Kristen Stewart was mean to Rob. She snapped at everything he said. I thought they were going to fight about who would intro the clip. Damn – they must really be in a relationship for her to be that pissy. Rob was much more relaxed on Ellen.

  • Claudia

Kristen’s dad works on the Jimmy Kimmel show, if I recall correctly from the last time KStew was on it. I bet all three were on it because of that.

  • Robyn

Taylor and Kristen seemed really comfortable in this one. But Rob always looks really nervous and awquard! It just makes him more adorable though! :)
