Sarah Palin loves tea-baggers, holds warm eyeballs for Barbara Walters

Continuing to lob softballs — or in this case, eyeballs — at Sarah Palin, Barbara Walters, last night on Nightline and this morning on Good Morning America, asked questions such as whether President Obama should have women playing in the White House basketball games the President occasionally has.

Yes she certainly thinks he should, said Palin, for whom “basketball was my life” during high school.

Of the so-called “teabagger” movement that objects, according to Walters, to “the government bail-out,” Palin had nothing but praise: “That tea party movement is beautiful; the tea-baggers, they’re speaking out, using their freedom of speech.”

By this second day of promoting her Going Rogue book, Walters already seemed to be scraping the bottom of the conversational barrel. By which I mean, do we care that Palin considered herself a “tough hunting buddy” with her father?

Her dad, both a science teacher as well as a hunter, used to “shoot and carve up” the moose they shot. Palin said her father asked her “to hold the warm eyeballs” of one dead moose, but she declined.

Are we getting tired of The Daily Palin pervading the TV schedule these days?

When will this broad discover that nobody cares?
I like it how people still entertain the idea that she’ll one day run for president!

    • 904

If nobody cares then why are people doing interviews and running promos like crazy? I guarantee you these ppl are chasing her down for interviews. As much as they act like they hate her, they sure do use her for ratings.

    • CV

      1. in what universe is calling a woman a “broad” acceptable???
      2. Please speak for yourself. I care..and if “nobody cares”, why are her interviews breaking ratings records all over the place (ie. Oprah’s highest ratings in ages).

    • bill

A lot of people care. And don’t criticize the person being interviewed for the questions, they come from the interviewer.

  • bunker

I bet Palin likes to get tea-bagged by Todd.

    • BlackIrish4094

      LMAO!!!!!!!! Awesome!

    • bill

Nobody but liberals use that phrase. It is tea party.

  • Ugly Jenny

Mr. Tucker, from reading your article I’m not sure sure if you’re annoyed with the questions they ask Gov. Palin or Gov. Palin herself. I don’t expect Oprah or Barbara Walters to ask the hard-hitting questios, but have come to expect the gossipy questions that the tabloids will eat up and spit out in their next issues.

But I have a question for you: If you dislike Governor Palin so much, then why are you the one that recaps her interviews? Surely there must be someone else less partisan and biased to do the job at EW.

    • BlackIrish4094

Whatever Jenny. Another person who believes Palin is getting picked on by “the liberal media elite”.

  • Butthead

    uh-huh-uh-huh, she said tea-baggers

  • Luke

What has happened to Barbara Walter the journalist?

    • BlackIrish4094

      Who????

    • Abby

      She never existed

  • elena

Has no one in Washington/News heard dirty jokes? Calling the movement and its supporters “teabaggers” is just BAITING everyone to mock them. Come ON!

  • Devin

Love Palin. She’s down to Earth. She has been given a hard time since she got in the spotlight. Is it because she’s a woman? Maybe. Is it because she’s conservative? Yes. I don’t hear anybody complain that the critics of Palin are sexists. But anybody who criticizes Obama is labeled a racist. There are more people out their who like Palin than you think. What I’m getting tired of is The Daily Obama pervading the TV schedule all the time. I’ve never seen a President who liked the camera as much as him.

    • BlackIrish4094

Palin herself just called a magazine cover of her (I believe Newsweek) sexist so there goes that argument dumb@ss.

      • Devin

It was. And there you go, name calling. Thanks for proving everybody’s point.

      • Dahlia

Devin – Plenty of people of both sides of the aisle are calling the Newsweek cover sexist, so your claim that people aren’t calling Palin’s critics sexist is invalid. Personally, since she posed for the photo, I don’t think she has a right to complain.

    • richardfoc

Sure, Palin may be “down to Earth” but that certainly does not qualify her to be Vice-President or (God forbid) President. My best friend Mike is down to Earth but I sure as shootin’ don’t want him running the country. Hell, he can barely run his own house!

Bottom line: small town Mayor + small state Governor + clueless rube Presidential timber. That doesn’t make me a sexist…it makes me a realist.

      • richardfoc

New post to edit my last line:

Bottom line: small town Mayor + small state Governor + clueless rube does not equal Presidential timber. That doesn’t make me a sexist…it makes me a realist.

    • Devin

She posed for that photo for Runners World magazine. They sold the picture to Newsweek. She said she wished she hadn’t posed for that photo for an article on her fitness because she didn’t think that they would sell the photo. She did not pose for that photo for Newsweek.

    • Tego Livi

Everyone who criticizes the President isn’t called racist, just the racist ones are. The same goes with ex-governor Palin. As to why people aren’t asking her the “hard questions,” the answer is pretty obvious–she’s shown that she can’t handle them, so people who ask them end up being seen either as mean-spirited bullies, or time wasters, or both. Sarah Palin simply isn’t a serious politician. She’s all image, but she’s too dumb to realize that other leaders are more than that.

    • CV

      Could agree more Devin.

I’m tired of Obama & his disciples.

    • bill

I wish it was daily and stay the heck away from prime time.

  • barock

Ken Tucker’s heart should be all warm and fuzzy knowing that as a teabagger he is loved

  • texas

First of all… the correct name is Tea Party Movement TEA stands for Taxed Enough Already. Your term is insulting to all Americans that stand for Freedom and Liberty.

Second of all… Go Saracuda! Palin believes in America and stands for truth in politics.

Time to quit being “haters” and listening to the lies in the media.

    • Devin

      Exactly.

    • really?

Do you think that the “lies” come from the so called “liberal” media? I bet you get most of your news (if not all) from that “fair and balanced” Fox News, right? News flash, Texas, but what most of the media is saying is painting Sarah Palin in a good light- they are letting her have hour long sessions where she gets to bash EVERYONE (and call Katie Couric “the perky one”- come on Sarah. You seem pretty damn perky yourself) and no one on the regular news channels have the guts to call her out except for John Stewart! And his show is FAKE NEWS. Sarah Palin and her teabaggers don’t believe in truth in politics, they believe in spreading lies to rip this country farther apart. What the conservative movement in America today is doing makes me sick. They complain about the Democrats doing stuff like this when the Republicans are in power, but then when they’re the ones actually doing it, they are fighting for “freedom and liberty” which I am sorry, but this is B.S.

    • richardfoc

      Hey Texas, read the quote:

Palin had nothing but praise: “That tea party movement is beautiful; the tea-baggers, they’re speaking out, using their freedom of speech.”

Palin said it you dope. It’s a shame she is insulting to all Americans that stand for Freedom and Liberty. Do you still support her?

  • You_Lie_Gone_Rogue

…..Sarah needs the tea bag in every orifice in her body. Every time she speaks the cringe factor goes way up. Wonder is she got “tea bagged” my McCain.

  • politicallipskip

It’s embarrassing to read the insulting comments about Palin and those that support her. The civility of disagreement has been lost in this country behind a wall of coward blog posts and comments. It’s pathetic and shameful.

  • Tommy

I LOVED the interviews with Baba Wawah and Opie Windbag. I think Sarah shocked them and as much as I think they dislike her, she hung in there and popped their bubbles. Go Sarah!!!

    • Katie

Really? I guess I was watching a different channel…the one where OW had to pin her down back to the question she asked after several minutes of SP rambling along.

  • WyomingRepub

I have butchered well over a few thousand wild game animals. Never once has a hunter removed the eyeballs. In fact, it is nearly impossible to remove the eyeball without destroying it. She is a complete liar.

  • Harry Steiner

Palin belongs in the wilderness, where stupidly cannot be noticed, I’ve never seen anybody so stupid.

    • Treza

      Look in the mirror.

  • Devin

It just looks like people just need to agree to disagree. The problem is that some people can not do that. They believe that if you don’t believe the way they do than there is something wrong with you.
