As long as the writers figure out other ways to keep showing us Brandon's abs and otherwise great body, I don't care what they do with his story line. Maybe the V's could capture him and put him in nothing but briefs and force him to sweat on a treadmill, or just stand there. . . .

I could not agree more. It's not the storyline itself, it's the atrocious acting skills of the young people playing the roles. If put in the hands of more capable actors it could be a lot more compelling. But these two are as vapid as they are pretty. Perhaps they should recast the roles and let these two go do toothpaste commercials or something.

Viewership doesn't drop much if the show is any good. Here's a comparison of V to a good/successful series -- Lost. Viewership of Lost's first four episodes, in millions -- 18.65, 17, 16.54, 18.16. The third episode dropped 11% from the initial episode. Then viewership went back up for the fourth episode. And that 16.54 million for the third episode was the lowest viewership of any episode that first season. Then there's V. First three episodes, in millions: 14.3, 10.7, 9.32. The second week dropped 25% from the first episode. The third episode dropped 13% from the second episode -- 35% from the first episode. Wow. And then the series in going to go on a three-month break. What's the over-under for how many more episodes we get before ABC pulls it?

I don't know why people are so bothered by the teen subplot. I find every other plotline to be more boring than that one. A teen willing to betray his species for some alien nookie is the most this show has going for it. At least Tyler has a reason for what he's doing. Whereas why are so many humans all up in arms about the aliens? They had to put decades of undercover aliens into the story because they couldn't come up with any other justification for humans being instantly peeved by the arrival of the Visitors, and couldn't be bothered to let distrust build over the course of multiple episodes.

Yes yes yes. The original miniseries took more time with the introduction of the Visitors, and obviously it had less time to tell its story, given that it was, hello, a MINISERIES. Also, sorry, but the original's Holocaust parallels were a stroke of brilliance. This new series has no parallels of any kind because it has nothing of substance to say about anything. So we've gone from a miniseries with multiple levels to a series with no levels. Such an improvement. When can we expect a remake of the remake?
