The World Series is over (pause; sob; Phillies fan here). But there is a silver lining: A new episode of Fringe will air tonight.
Entitled “Earthling,” the hour will give you lots of new background on the life of boss-man Broyles. (Small spoiler: he keeps a storage unit. And we see his ex-wife. That’s two spoilers, I know: live with it; I haven’t given away the meat of these scenes.)
And the monster-of-the-week is a “shadow man.” And various people turn to ash. And at a crucial point in the proceedings, Walter asks Astrid, “Could you get us some licorice, dear?”
Have I whetted your appetite sufficiently? Tune in…

Dang I love this show….I can’t believe this is on the bubble for cancellation!!!!!!! Note to Fox…maybe move it to Fridays or Sundays like the X-Files had been? This show definitely deserves an audience.
Here, Here. Fox is going to kill this show with the worst timeslot possible. What was wrong with it’s old Tuesday timeslot??
I agree…I don’t watch anything on Tuesday night and would love to watch it then instead of Friday mornings on my computer.
I miss it on Tuesday…the only night of the week without anything GOOD to watch
Agreed! If it wasn’t for TiVo I’d never get to see the show and I LOVE it. Thursday night is a terrible night for this show. I vote to put it back on Tuesday. Or Friday. Or any other day, really. Please Fox!
“various people turn to ash”? Sounds like a good episode for Walter to have a nice Freudian slip and call Astrid “Ashtray”. I miss the funny names he used to call her when the show started. It just hasn’t been the same since he jammed a hypodermic needle in her neck.
He’s called her several alter-names this season. Last episode she snapped and corrected him.
Where did you read that Fringe is in danger of being cancelled? have heard no such thing and was under the impression that it was doing pretty well.
Suck.
Tv***** ran an article 10/28 that listed Fringe as losing viewers this year and being on the bubble for mid season replacement.
YANKEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEES!!!!!
Don’t worry. Rupert Murdoch is Anna Torv’s uncle. She can always ask her Uncle Rupie to step in if needed.
So glad it is finally back, it has been too long Fringe!
I checked my dvr last night and it wasn’t showing that there would be one on tonight… hmmm.
They should move it back to Tuesday night. I don’t get to watch it anymore because I watch Supernatural which is on at the same time. Boo hoo! I liked this show.
So happy its back! Couldn’t take missing it two weeks in a row!
That sounds like the network when they have a decent show they cancel it and leave the garbage shows. and they should have left it on tuesdays cause now their isn’t anything good on tues.
I think you’re misunderstanding things. Even on a Thursday night, FRINGE is pulling in 7-8 million viewers (what 24 does on a Monday night) and when you add in DVR recordings and viewing FRINGE is well over 10 million per week. FOX wouldn’t cancel that kind of numbers!
LOVE Fringe! So glad to see its back again! This seasons has been great so far! Not a fan of the time slot change though!
I agree big time about the time slot change. Thursday at 9 is just a killer, and this show deserves to shine! Last season I was unconvinced that this show would last, but that finale and then everything this season have been awesome!
Finally! So glad baseball is over. Now we can get to the interesting stuff. LOL Just giving all you baseball fans a hard time.:) Sorry for your loss Phillies fans.
I love Walter. I love when he asks for food right before and right after he shares is knowledge. LOL
They better not cancel this show! Otherwise there wont be anything left for me to watch on FOX and I’ll have to switch to basic cable channels exclusively. What is wrong with the big networks?? Why do they create a good show, and then give up on it before it can even gain momentum!? They don’t care about branching out and gaining new fans anymore. If it hasn’t made them a fortune in two seasons they dump it. Hopefully Sci-Fi channel will pick it up and rake in the money like they did with Stargate SG1 several years back, but I know a lot of people who didn’t have cable who were deeply upset at not being able to see their favorite show anymore. Not sure that it was on FOX or not, but just another big network blunder. It has made Sci-Fi millions of dollars with 2 spin-off shows that are still going strong. I hope Fringe has the same destiny if FOX is dumb enough to let it go!
