Now in its fourth season, with declining ratings, Ugly Betty has become a pretty little bauble that should probably be wrapped up and put away. Read the full post.

Oh I have to disagree with you with regards to UB, I think the program is still one of the best on the tube, the problem is airing the show on Friday night. What show has ever garnered viewers on that evening in this decade?
I don’t agree with Ken! I think it is still very funney. I think it was a natural move to have Betty grow. I love teh Mark/ Betty I don’t agree with Ken! I think it is still very funny. I think it was a natural move to have Betty grow. I love the Mark/ Betty Rivalry/friendship.
BTW – The Vampire cover was not outdated at all. Twilight and True Blood who brought back vampires popularity were at their peak in 2009!
I agree that the Daniel story is not good! I sure hope they DO NOT go the route of other Ugly Bettys world wide where Betty becomes pretty and ends up with Daniel.
Rivalry/friendship.
BTW – The Vampire cover was not outdated at all. Twilight and True Blood brought back vampires big time were most popular in 2009!

For me, Betty is still a superior show to many others on the air. Should the showrunners find a fresh angle and new characters to change the vibe? Yes. However, Mr. Tucker’s remark about how the vampire-cover story was so 2007 made me laugh out loud. His own magazine has featured no fewer than 20 articles/photo spreads/covers about vampires (Twilight/New Moon/ True Blood/ Vampire Diaries etc.) this year alone. I guess it’s 2007 at EW too.
I continue to LOVE the show. Bette and Wilamena and Mark and Amanda are all very fun characters to watch. One of my favorite shows on tv. I think it belongs on Sunday in Extreme Makeover’s spot, or Wed = Middle, Modern Family, Bette and Eastwick with Cougar Town after Dancing going to 1 1/2 hours as they had such success with Samatha Who years ago. Dancing is TOO long at 2 hours.
I like Ugly Betty, and do not want the show to end, but I do wish they’d take off her braces and do something else to make her look like I do.
I loved Ugly Betty. But when the show became about keeping Henry and Betty apart so they could introduce a new love interest… it just seemed to lose its way.
DISAGREE! I still love the show. The biggest mistake was putting it on Friday night.
I hate to say I mostly agree. I still watch and enjoy parts (Marc and Amanda, in particular), but it’s been really quite stupid. Just stupid! And it doesn’t need to be. That story line a couple weeks ago with Betty and Matt on “dates” at Ignacio’s restaurant was just ridiculous. I really wish it would get back into the smart comedy it used to be.
I love Ugly Betty. I think this season it has gotten even better. I thought the last episode had heart, wit, and real life experiences. I am sick of cop shows, doctor shows, and reality shows! I love a show about family and the problems that come with it.
Disagree. I still love Betty as much as I loved her in the beginning, and it’s nice to see her growing. She couldn’t be assistant forever, and I like to watch the way she’s adjusting to that. Also, don’t tell me that the situations are getting boring because the plot line with Wilhelmina and her daughter is really riveting. And isn’t Daniel supposed to be morose? His wife died. Still love the show and am looking forward to many more amazing seasons.
No, its not ending! It still airs Fridays on ABC. This might be its last season though. Its such an amzing show though!
