They sucked! Well the lead singer did. I wished that other white girl with the brown hair could have sung. Her with that cute football player actor dude. Too bad the phillies lost……..and at home…………so sad.

I was at the game. they were great just the way they were. I wish they would’ve done more. The only bad thing was that the sound where I was sitting wasn’t great so I didn’t hear all the harmonizing perfectly.

Well, Liz, we are all entitled to our opinion, so here’s mine: you are out of your mind or you are tone deaf…..The ENTIRE cast of Glee can sing, and they ALL could have done the anthem….that’s how good they are….
Fox should totally release this as a single.

I know! It would have totally made sense if they’d given the solo to Leah, but how generous is that to pull back and let your cast members have a chance to shine. Right now this cast is incredibly classy. Let’s hope that they never let fame get to their heads.

Seemed as if the crowd was behind them and not just because of the fireworks.It sounded great and they looked like they enjoyed it .I think it puts to rest the question if theyy can sing live or not.

That was pretty stellar. That girl can sing. To think, she got denied on American Idol. Too bad for them.
I actually wonder if they gave her the lead as somewhat of a dig to Fox. So she’s not good enough for American Idol? Well, she’s good enough to sing the national anthem at America’s favorite pastime. So there!
um Glee is on Fox…it was cross promotional and awesome. not a dig at american idol
I wonder if she would have been as bright a star on Idol as she is on Glee. Maybe, just maybe, the time between Idol and Glee turned a great singer into one of the best I’ve ever heard. I’d go as far as to say that I’m glad Idol tossed her, because we Gleeks get to have her now!

totally agree – it was drowning them out. kind of wish they’d all sung the whole song with amber doing the solo as a big finish. felt like the amber show… but awesome nonetheless.
I would have preferred for all of them to sing the whole thing as an ensemble with no featured soloist, but this works, too!

Everyone on the show has to be able to sing. They wouldn’t be cast if not.
Glee will be back on the Lot in January. Last year when they were our neighbors, we had no idea that the show they were doing on the next sound stage would be so awesome. Now I’m totally going to be hanging around to sneak a peak at what they’re up to.
Girl sang her face off! That was great, although I also kind of wish it was a capella. Love that “Mercedes” got some front-and-center time.
I agree with Brody. The fact that they only sang half of the song as a group ruined it for me. Yeah, they sounded good, but I think it was a waste of talent to have them sitting there doing nothing for half of the time.
True story: my parents were at the game, and my mother (who trained at the Royal Canadian Opera Company and is rarely impressed with renditions of the national anthem) calls me and wants to know everything about the show. I’m turning my mom into a Gleek. Couldn’t be prouder.
