3. Kate went on Ellen DeGeneres’ show on Wednesday. The host asks her to examine the Halloween wig being sold that resembles Kate’s hairdo. Kate holds it as if she were handling a cobra disguised as a skunk. She talks so guardedly about how “some people” (i.e., Jon) don’t “choose their words wisely” in speaking to the press, that Ellen says, “I don’t know what you’re talking about… You’re speaking in code”:

She’s chiding Jon for not using the right words speaking to the press? Isn’t she the one who talks about how hard she has it being a single mother, even though she has a full staff? Really?
she may have a support staff, but her kids have only one mother, and a mostly absent father, so I’d say it’s ok to refer to herself as a single parent, just as Jon could when it’s his turn with the kids. The staff stays on regardless.
On the hair: I’ve noticed that recently in episodes the back is less spikey. Progress?
She should just go ahead, cave in, and shave it all off. Start from scratch.

Kate sounds more polished and is definitely benefitting from TLC wanting to make her look good, but neither of them deserve ANY admiration.
Regarding their Christianity, it doesn’t appear that either are turning to that faith to get them through this. This Rabbi is kind of a celebrity of his own and who knows, maybe he reached out and offered assistance to Jon. I do hope Jon is sincere because he needs help. Kate’s biggest problem is that she already thinks she’s perfect.
Absent father? Yes he is gone ALOT but everyone fails to realize so is Kate. She leaves them everytime she goes to do another interview! It’s not like she’s doing them from the living room. She has to leave the house and get on a plane and leave the kids with someone else! So it isn’t just Jon who is absent!
I know – they have joint custody and people act like he’s never with the kids. He’s got them just as much as her.
People act like she brings the kids everywhere she goes! She’s away from them more than with them.
The difference is that when Jon has them he spends more time talking to the paparazzi than he does with the kids. Just check out all the pictures that follow his time with the kids.

Joint Custody just means they make decisions regarding the kids together, it is not an even split for time. The visitation schedule is usually less for the father, especially in PA. Read the headlines, watch the blogs, Jon is definately not with his kids 3-4 days a week.
They have joint custody, which means that each has a week that they HAVE to be out of the house. Kate has no choice but to be gone during that time. The someone else she is leaving the kids with is Jon. They’re taking turns.
You make it sound like the kids are prisoners and the parent visit them whenever time permits. Sounds lovely.
Yes I get that Ariel – but she acts like she’s a pioneer single mom making it alone in the world and the reality is so far removed from that. I would be offended if I were a single mom. I know friends who are and I’ve read alot of posters who are fed up with that little sad act.
Jon talks to the paparazzi because TLC is banning him from doing interviews, all the while setting up mountains of opportunities to share her side of things via book talks, interviews, etc. He’d do the same if he could, don’t you think?

I have been a single mother and I can tell you Kate is a joke. It is always someone else taking care of her kids; never her. First it was volunteers when the kids were babies ; then it was Jon and now a nanny. The woman does not know the first thing about taking care of and loving her children.

You complainers out there don’t listen much, do you? Kate doesn’t have a “full staff” – she has a sitter who helps outs and someone who comes in to help with cleaning. I’d like to see you all handle eight kids w/o at least some help. Being a “single mom” is nothing special, but being a single mom of eight kids has got to be exhausting. Idiot, my mother raised ten children with NO help. She did it all herself. My mother did not have time to get her nails done much less run around whining to everybody.
I am so tired of hearing about how hard Kate has it. My mother was a widow with 5 kids, pregnant with a sixth, and taking care of her mother. She was on her own for 6 years and in that time had one of her children hospitalized repeatedly. She had no help. Kate has 0 sympathy from me.

John and Kate are big Christians? What actions have they taken to give you that impression? Yes, I have seen episodes of their show (very early on) where they would pray and talk about God and religion but as their popularity rose, I can’t say that I’ve seen any indication in how they live. It is not what we say but how we live that portrays us in our most true lites. I pray they do rediscover and rekindle their relationships with God, He could help.

I am tired of Jon and Kate’s lame excuse to make easy money, “It’s for the children.” They both have it so rough. Sitting in front of cameras airing out their laundry to the whole world and getting paid for it. That’s why they need babysitters, maids, cooks, groundkeepers, a full time staff catering to their every want. If it wasn’t for the children the parents wouldn’t have what they have. Another words, the children are doing it all for their parents. It’s hard work waking up in morning seeing your children off to school and then Kate going to go to the spa. Hard work for Jon waking up to spent his children’s money buying his girlfriend clothes. Not to mention what these parents get for free. I come from a family of twelve children. I wish my parents had it has hard as Jon and Kate. But then again Jon and Kate are living proof of be careful what you wish for.
I agree. It seems to me they should have made enough money since the show has been on the air that neither one should be crying “poor”. I also wonder if Kate ever stops to think of what she is teaching her kids when she talks to people the way she continually communicated with Jon when he was living with them. I seems to me she was teaching her children to be rude, crude, and socially unacceptable. I just wonder what she is going to do when the kids start talking to her or others the same way. How can she reprimand them for learning what she is teaching so well?
Both jon and kate have issues that need to be dealt with. We read about their dirty laundry and then post our opinions on it all the while saying how we are no longer going to watch or we dont care what they are doing with their lives… So aren’t we as bad as the two of them?

Chris you are so right. I saw the interview and I thought she held herself very well and once again the press twisted her words and they try to make her as bad as they can. Jon needs help I am beginning to think he has a dual personalty disorder and I wouldn’t trust him with my dog.If he keeps going on and he will loose visiting rights with his children or get supervised visits.
