'Southland' cancelled: Can it still survive? Yes!

As EW reported last night, Southland has been canceled by NBC. A combination of so-so ratings and, more significantly, the lack of the 10 p.m. Read the full post.

Southland was really good I’m pissed

Bad decision NBC! I think TNT would be wise to pick up this winner!

Wow. This show had a lot of potentional, and I really enjoyed it. I hope its picked up by FOX or ABC or even FX. Please pick it up!

I’m so pissed that this show got canceled. Leno is NO GOOD! This show needs to come back somewhere. Great show! Ditto to comments above, what a bonehead move by NBC. No wonder they are struggling, they think Leno is going to save them! (ps – I watched half of one episode of Dark Blue and wanted to puke, not a good show)

VERY BAD MOVE ON NBC’s PART!!!

I hope NBC realizes that I only watch one show on their network now – Heroes. And either through frustration or cancellation that won’t be much longer.

May I suggest that you give CHUCK a try once it takes over Heroes’ timeslot in March? It’s a more dependable show in terms of both writing and acting. IMO, it’s pretty much the only thing worth watching on NBC.

Put it on FX. They need a replacement for the Shield, and they can go even edgier there then NBC ever would have allowed.

I Completely agree! If NBC is stupid enough to keep the low-rated Jay Leno Show, then ANY other network deserves this superior show. I say either ABC or FX, PLEASE pick ‘Southland’ up!

For shame NBC, For shame. I am looking around my place and removing every GE product I can find. “Just when I thought you couldn’t get any more shallow, you managed to drain a little more out of the pool”

I, for one, am glad they cancelled this ingelligent, appealing show. Maybe now we can have more Leno, more Dateline, more Law & Order. And I’ll have more time watching OTHER networks, more time walking the dogs, more time running errands, more time not watching NBC. The network has effectively whittled my must-watch schedule down to 2 hours of comedies on Thursday, so their mission to drive me away is succeeding magnificently.

I initially thought the show had potential, but I stopped watching it after the second episode. It really wasn’t that good of a show.

  • Ellen

I’m so pissed. I watched nothing, nothing on NBC and this show got me to tune in. Such a good show. It’s a shame. NBC doesn’t have a chance.

  • Kristin

Another stupid move. This was a great show, great cast, great stories. Why not put it in Trauma’s timeslot? It is dying a slow death with predictable characters and stupid special effects. What a waste.

  • Stephen

Wow.. I’m very sad.. I couldn’t wait for the season to start up again.. A&E hasn’t had much luck with their scripted shows (The Cleaner was just cancelled), this may work for them.. or TNT would make good putting Dark Blue and Southland on the same night..

NBC get a clue! Worst network on TV. Hopefully Southland will be picked up. I will miss it.

Oh how the mighty have fallen. This once great network is now ittle more than a laughing stock. [And that's not in their comedy block either.] I hope there’s a “Friday Night Lights” type Directv deal that gives this fantastic show another chance. Leno is in the toilet, and wish to God they would just flush.

  • Scott

This is really a shame. Leno not only took the spotlight away from Conan, but now he is preventing good shows like Southland from getting a shot to develop. I am tired of Leno and I am losing faith in NBC!
