They need to cut the show to 1 hour, take the thurs night show and add it to the news and dumb some bad, bad skits. Oh, and bring back Justin Timberlake.

Ken, you and I apparently don’t find the same things funny! I don’t really enjoy Jean K. Jean, but I loved Judy Grimes (and Kristen Wiig). I thought the mom sketch was funny too. Megan Fox was a “whatever” for me. Amusingly, I didn’t know that Keenan was doing a character from “Sanford and Sons”, even though I love those sketches. That Transformers sketch was kind of weird, wasn’t it?

      I mean, “Son”.

Fred Armisen is the only reason it was sort of funny.

It’s obvious that the writers don’t know what to do what a pretty woman. The skits for Miss Fox were lame and slow. But the boy skits were funny. Not a U2 fan so I fast forwarded thru them. Not a great season opener.

The F bomb should be passed over. The FCC ruled in Bonos favor a few years back that the F Bomb is ok if it does not describe the physical act. Fox did stretch her acting talens. Knowing those that have worked with her, her skill set is very limited.

The show sucked..Megan was awful and Kristin just does the same damn character in each sketch. Thank you Keenan for saving this weeks show. Hopefully next week will be better with Ryan Reynolds hosting.

This skit proves to me that SNL is no longer funny. I find myself just staring at it waiting for something amusing.

What’s with the all the Ken Tucker-love for Kenan Thompson? I can’t be the only one that doesn’t find him funny. His characters all sound the same to me. Surely there are up and coming black actors out there with more range than Keenan. He’s had ample time to show us something; let’s see the next Eddie Murphy, Chris Rock or Garrett Morris get a shot already.

Average show. This was the first time I saw Megan Fox act. She was better than I expected.

musical act: I’m a huge fan of U2 from the very early days, but I’m disappointed in their performance. Bono didn’t sound that good on any of the songs. I am also disappointed with the two songs picked from the new album. As many times as I listen to these songs on the new album, I can’t get into them.

I have been watching SNL for 34 years. The season opener is almost always a big problem. Everyone is rusty and they aren’t in the flow. But they seriously need to get some female cast members who can sing and act and write…otherwise, this season is doomed. K. Whig can’t do EVERYTHING. Another issue probably is that they made Seth Meyers head writer. I have never thought he was funny. This may be their worst year. Only time will tell.

The premier wasn’t busting a gut funny. It had it’s moments, but like all episodes where a “Hot” actress better know for her body or looks than acting skills is basically a prop for the sketches involved. The Russian bride sketch was funny because Fred Armisan carried it. If Fox could really act she would have played the ugly one. As for Kenan Thompson, he came Nickelodeon’s All That, where kids are directed to overact in horribly unfunny skits. If you tv nerds remember Kenan played a character on All That that was french and may have had the same name, he sat in a bathtub and said things in horrible french and did the streotypical french laugh. However I believe when there is a good host the cast can feed off that, the premier seemed a little tense, like the cast couldn’t work with Fox. Hader is used less and less each season, I don’t understand why he’s not utilized as much as Will Forte or Andy Sandberg, whom are both funny but don’t have as much talent as Hader. As for the women, Wiig is getting worn out like a sponge, she is funny and some of her characters are great like the Target Lady and Suze Orman, she was also hilarious as Amy Poehler’s movie critic Aunt Linda. But there are also times when she’s just hamming it up and is not funny she goes past funny and onto abusurdly unfunny, Kenan’s overacting may have rubbed off on her. SNL has always been a boys club, I think when they get another brilliant female writer like Tina Fey that’s when the women will prevail once more. Sarah Silverman was a cast member for one season, and never got to show her stuff. Michaela Watkins was great, but not utilized enough. Angie Tempura was memorable, Abbie Elliot isn’t she may have the comedy pedigree, but who knows how long her stay will last in the cast. Nepotism only gets you so far, and one Angelina impression is not enough.

Og course it was Megan Fox’s fault–what did the staff have to work with? A department-store mannequin. Had it been Anne Hathaway or Justin Timberlake, the show would be full of the guest in great sketches, but no, we are going after the pimply adolescent boy demographic.

  • KIT

No! I fell asleep after the opening credits and dialogue. IT SUCKS!!! THIS SHOW SHOULD BE CANCELLED…its NOT FUNNY ANYMORE. Wish I saw the “Biker Chicks” skit fcuk word.

  • Jon

I think it’s kind of funny how seriously some people take comedy.

    That is all.
