I really didn’t like this season more than the first. Mary Ann’s story line got old really quickly and would not go away. What a drag and let down. Third season is the charm like ‘lost’ or it will jump the shark.
From the perspective of reading the book and watching the series. I feel cheated each time the HBO writer take there hacksaw to the show. The books although not a pulitzer had a good foundation and the characters were wonderful, which is why Charlaine Harris has been able to write such a long series of books. SPOILER ALERT.. after book 4 it’s all bout Eric and Sookie..Will they/HBO writers keep the story true. Because the story in the books show Sookie not willing to compromise her integrity.
IMO, I don’t… If they stuck to the novels the show would be predictable and Sookie would be in EVERY shot…
I don’t think he is going to stray so far as too completely get rid of the Eric/Sookie relationship that blossoms. If so, he will lose a huge chunk of fan base.
I don’t watch tv anymore and this is the only show that has me addicted and obsessed!!! I can’t wait to watch the next season!!! I love the bill and sookie relationship even though I think eric is def hot and has a more deep side to him. I really hope the storyline doesn’t imitate the books!
I know this must’ve been said scanning through the comments, but I want to voice my opinion. I honestly LOVED this Season. As a whole, Season 1 was a bit better, but with the whole Dallas part and the adaptation of Godric for the television series was amazing. It was just a perfect piece of television. After that, the Maenad part was a bit annoying towards the end
It will NOT be Eric that kidnapped Bill because:
1. TOO obvious, how many of the cliff-hangers in the show ended up being what they were made out to be?
2. Sophie-Ann wouldn’t want Eric to kidnap Bill because he is her link to Sookie.
3. There would be no room for Eric and Sookie’s relationship to blossom once she found out it was him.
This season started giving depth the the character of Eric… between his conversations with Sookie and the reaction to Godric’s suicide… you start to see that Eric isn’t quite the cookie-cutter EVIL character he is made out to be in Season 1. He has emotions.
Now, as far as the Series vs. The Books… CH created an AMAZING universe and the books are great. It took me a while to get used to the writing style, but once I did I appreciated it. The series is amazing and the characters have so much depth. It is ridiculous for people to sit here and compare the two because they are completely seperate entities. The books work and are interesting and if you appreciate Sookie/Bill/Eric/Pam, then you will like the books. As for the series, of COURSE they had to stray from the books a bit. I mean, I would be SO sick of watching the show if EVERY single frame had Sookie in it. The only way the show would work is if they created sub-plots and tied them in together. If the books were like this they would end up being confusing. I think AB is going to take the skeletons of the books… the major parts and stick with them, but change the direction in how he will achieve those major points.
As to someone above calling the books trashy… the books have WAY less sex then the series, so if you believe that then you would think the show is trashy, too.
it just isn’t as exciting without eric….!!!! more eric….!!!!
Personally, not an Eric fan.
The thing is.. its too obvious that theres sexual tension between sookie and eric.
Plus, IMO, eric, although Hot, is overrated.
I’d rather see Bill and Sookie going through complex problems in their relationship then have the OTHER vampire drooling over sookie.
I think this season was really good.
The season finale shocked me though! I cant wait until next season and I cant believe what Eric did to Sookie, Bill and Sookie belong together! And Bill is pretty hot
Season 1 Bill was SO much better than Season 2 Bill. I hate that it’s always SOOKIE!!! Ugh!
I absolutely love this show, and the books are really very good too. I can not wait for season three to come out! I love Sookie and Bill together, but I am curious to see what happens with her and Eric:)
What a baitueful story about two baitueful dogs and their owner! I wish I would have had the chance to meet them. I’ll always remember their wonderful story! Thank you Eileen for sharing your Riley and Bailey with us!
