I love CSI – both with Grissom and after!!
I couldnt stand Grissom and dont like Peterson. Talk about someone with no talent. LOVE LOVE LOVE the new cast and watch new ep’s and reruns alike.
Grissom WAS CSI Vegas. Time with another character is not going to change.
While Fishburne is a great actor, the character doesn’t fill Gil’s shoes. I kept getting the impression the network was kissing Fishburne’s behind via the scripts: His character is a newbie, yet he’s instantly working in the field, making huge mistakes, and the other characters are still trying to be his friend. It wouldn’t happen with any other newbie (played by a less prestigious actor). As talented as he is I’m afraid Fishburne killed CSI.
i don’t like laurence on this show either. something about it’s just not working. …why does he get billing over katherine? …do we get to see him go shopping? or will he perhaps just fashion himself one of those foil suits? or maybe we’ll discover he feels more comfortable in women’s clothes? either of those changes would be far more interesting.
i miss what was except warrick, but i mean when somethings not broke why fix it,that includs csi,i miss sara, and grissom,if its not possable to have what was, maybe it is time to say goodbye.
Marge Helgenhamburger is a pig in real life, and her character is just the same razorback with Botox. Maybe Larry Fishburne can carry the show; but as long as he’s forced to play second string to a 50 year old sow wearing teenager clothes, we’ll never know will we?
I’ve been watching all of the CSI series and I have to say that I am very disappointed with Grisson and Sara Sidle characters leaving the show. Laurence Fishburne does not fit in IMHO. Clothes or not his character does not fill in the void left by Grissom. We all want the Grissom character back please!
What I’m reading here is the exact same thing I see on other TV review websites encompassing a wide variety of TV shows. Where big changes in an old beloved show bring massive criticisms (sometimes valid, sometimes not)by the fans but, then usually followed by a flood of people endlessly praising the new format as if the older style was what was wrong with the show in the first place! I for one was a huge Stargate SG1 and Atlantis fan and totally despise the new Stargate Universe as it literally pales in comparrison. Yet now tonnes of people are saying they absolutely love it!
Overall I think that this recession has been a blessing in desguise for the cash strapped TV companies as it now seems they can now hijack a popular show, run far beyond it’s natural lifespan, completely rewrite everything so they can make it about 80% cheaper and still get loads of viewers! For while the hardcore fans may have jumped ship, unprepared to see their treasured programmes destroyed, they have all been replaced it seems with a load of newcomers, completely unaware of the show previously, who would have normally been doing something different but now don’t have the money and so need a little entertainment. But while inititally good, what happens when the money returns? For unlike die hard fans who will follow their favourite show into the gates of hell itself; bored spendaholics will not share the same sense of loyalty and will depart as soon as the cash flows.
Anyway, as for CSI Vegas, just remember that it’s not Fishburnes fault, it’s the writers who created his character, so don’t blame one of the best actors in the world for the failings of unimaginative scriptwriters.
You wait, next thing they’ll do what Stargate Universe did, by having one of the female characters get her boobies out during a prolonged pointless sex scene in order to boost ratings… Saddest part about it though is it did!
I can’t stand him and a wardrobe change won’t fix the problem. Get rid of him!
I absolutely HATE Langston. I don’t think he fits in. It is like he took over as lead? Sorry, but as a newbie to the CSI cast, I think he should be back of the line instead of acting like this know-it-all hotshot. I did like Liev though. I miss Grissom and love the fact that Sidle is back!! I bought every year of CSI to watch over and over as I am such a fan. But I will not be purchasing Season 10. This show is clearly not the same. Please get rid of Langston!
