Leslie Mann shaves Judd Apatow's back on 'Kimmel' and makes the talk-show rounds

Leslie Mann, actor and lissome co-star of the new movie Funny People, is making the rounds of talk shows to promote the movie. Last night on Jimmy Kimmel, she proved once again that she’s a first-rate talk-show guest, as she spoke blithely and amusingly about shaving the back of her husband, Funny People creator Judd Apatow:

Mann has a distinct charm: she comes on all dithery and ditzy, but it only takes a few seconds after she folds her legs beneath a talk-show chair for her to reveal that she’s also fast and clever, as in this exchange last week with David Letterman:

Mann is scheduled to appear on Jimmy Fallon tonight. It may be time to consider entering her into that club of reliably funny talk-show-guest women whose hall of fame includes Teri Garr and Bonnie Hunt.

What do you think?

I think she’s EW’s flavor of the week like Amy Adams and that broad from Wedding Crashers whos with Sacha Baron Cohen. They are all overly annoying

i agree – when you see so many people struggle to deliver a witty, fresh anecdote for the press curcuit, Leslie Mann on Kimmel last night showed how it’s done!

Totally agree with first poster … nothing particularly charming or funny about them (ok, maybe Isla Fisher a bit, and Amy Adams has her moments too), especially Mann who is the worst of the bunch. Ever since she agreed to play that harpy shrew of a female character in “Knocked Up” (the tired stereotype of a nagging, bossy, demanding and put-upon wife) I’ve had little respect for her. Yeah, your husband wrote the part and got you to star in it, but you couldn’t put your foot down and put a stop to the exaggerated “shrill hausfrau” role or get it toned down some? Huge step backwards for women. She just comes across as overly enamoured of her superstar hubby and gushingly grateful that he’s raised her profile in the movie biz after a 10-yr hiatus. The fact that she has this “dithery/ditzy” overly laughing charm does nothing to elevate her as an intelligent woman with some semblance of a … brain.

She is sooo cute and funny! I love how she describes Eric Bana!

I found her interview with Kimmel cute, but maybe that’s because I would also shave Judd Apatow’s back. I’d do anything he wanted me to do…he’s adorable and good looking.

    She’s annoying! Ack!

Maybe it was your set-up, but I was expecting something more. She was okay I guess, though I thought she laughed too much. Meh.
