One of the best opening monologues I have ever seen (top 3). Wit and cleverness is funny. Wit, cleverness, intelligence, knowledge, philosophy and meaning is ten times funnier. What’s sad is that most people won’t recognize the brilliance in this piece. Such an underrated genius, who was able to escape the late-night show debate (Conan vs. Leno vs. Letterman) and come out wiser and on top. What a true observation! Brilliant!
Craig is a tonic for bad days, annoying people, the blues…his show is a treat at the end of a rough day. I record it on dvr and watch the opening monologue at least twice – this one I watched 4 times…so stunningly brilliant
Craig is a true intellectual, critical thinker who happens to be a comedian and good-looking.
Craig stinks! I hate his show almost as much as Fallons!
It’s wonderful to have a tall dark handsome hillarious brilliant man in my life. But please, the canned laughter is too annoying and distracting.
If he values maturity and experience, why did he marry a woman more than 10 years younger? Hmmm…
He should be a teacher.
Love Craig. Love his show. He is just the right mix of naughty and brilliant. NONE of the other talk shows are worth watching in comparison. He’s an original. The skit he did about the ZUNE was probably one of the funniest things I have ever seen.
Typical Scottish brilliance!
I may have to start recording this show, since I’m not young enough to stay up that and get to work the next morning.
CBS doesn’t realize what they have in Craig because they, as any other tv station, are interested only in shows for the “stupid young”. I guess it will remain as such for a good while.
Craig is the closest to johnny carson since the king of late night signed off. he and johnny are the only late night hosts you could make me laugh and cry in the same monologue. craig has an eerie brillance when it comes to the human condition. he’s been through a lot in his life. i get a human vibe a “for real” vibe from him that is sadly lacking in all other late night hosts. he’s everything: handsome, smart, funny, possessed of a sense of justice, a damaged and redeemed man. what’s not to love? he deserves letterman’s job when dave retires–if he wants it. i urge everyone to read “american on purpose” craig’s brilliant autobiography.
there’s nothin great about craig.. Pesonally I jus think he’s an idiot that somehow landed a talk show.. He’s just in it for the money… But I do find him kind of entertaining ill admit..
