Michael Jackson: Joe Jackson's hollow denials of beating Michael on 'Larry King Live'

Horrible excuse for a parent. Yet… would the Jacksons, and Michael in particular, been as driven to succeed had Joe Jackson not been the motivator for hard work and perfection he was in their youth? Let he who has not sinned cast the first stone. There’s no way anyone can know for certain what it was to be in that family.

Having read all of the posts, the overwhelming majority have negative remarks to make about Joe Jackson. Only twood09 stated any personal connection with the Jackson, the truthfulness of which is questionable since he/she mentions the 8 kids Joe and Katherine Jackson raised, when it is well known that there were 9 kids (10 births – twin to Marlon died shortly after birth, so 9 were raised, not 8 as twood09 stated). Regardless, and giving twood09 the benefit of the doubt, he/she would be the only one so far on these posts that can speak with any knowledge of the truth of the allegations of abuse. Basically it is simply Michael’s word against Joe’s. Just because Michael said Joe beat him does not make it a fact. Do you not believe that Michael has ever told an untruth? When he was asked about plastic surgery and he denied having anything other than two nose jobs (and maybe another procedure), you would actually believe him? Plastic surgeons that have studies the before and after photos have stated that MJ has had no less than 50 plastic surgeries!! MJ was not truthful about that, now was he? Only MJ knows the truth about the child molestation charges brought against him. Just because he was acquitted does not mean he was innocent, he was simply FOUND not guilty, but no one will know for sure because MJ cannot answer anymore questions about that. None of us having no personal knowledge of the truth of any of these issues can speak unequivocally as to whether or not Joe Jackson beat Michael and/or his other kids or whether or not Michael was truthful in making his claims against his father or whether or not Michael was guilty of child molestation. We can have our opinions but that is as far as it goes. It is a possibility Michael carried a lifelong grudge against his father for something other than abuse and it could possibly be because his father tried to intervene in his life to keep MJ from getting into a destructive lifestyle. Since MJ didn’t want intervention, he could have decided to make the abuse claims to get back at his father. Again, only Michael could have answered that question but it is too late now. It is also possible he was telling the truth. Many say they absolutely believe what MJ said about the abuse allegations against his father but Michael denied drug use even to his own brothers and sisters and shut them out of his life for their attempts to intervene, but it turned out he obviously did use drugs, so it is clear that he has not always been truthful in his answers. As for shutting his father out of his life and his will, there were numerous pictures of his father with him in recent years. MJ also named someone other than his mother as executors of his estate, not his mother, so leaving his father out of the will is not an iron-clad statement of his feelings toward his father. One or two others have mentioned Katherine Jackson, but most have not. If Joe Jackson is guilty of abuse, then unfortunately Katherine is as well through her silence since she did not report her husband to authorities or kick him out or take the children and leave. No excuse for any of that if the allegations are true. I do not believe Katherine would have stood by and allowed Joe to abuse any of her nine children and keep quiet about it. If he was simply disciplining them with ‘spankings’, which are NOT abuse, then she would not be at fault for not doing something about it. Here’s the latest revelation concerning Michael and his father’s relationship: News reports tonight just revealed that MJ had been living planning to live in Las Vegas and had picked out a luxurious home (but could not afford it). He wanted to live in Vegas and was working on deals. Joe Jackson lives in Vegas. It is pretty interesting that if Michael hated his father so much that he was still planning to move to the same city his supposedly ‘abusive’ father lived in!! Regardless of the truth of any of these situations, the Jackson family has lost a son/brother/father that they loved very much and my heart goes out to them.

Some of Joe jacksons other children admitted they were beat also and spanking, whether it is abuse or not is up to interpretation. Spanking is wrong. Anyone who spanks is too lazy to do the hard work of showing a child right or wrong by example. Spanking a child just shows them that violence is what you resort to when you get angry or frustrated. As far as I’m concerned, he did beat his children and I don’t believe that Katherine is completely innocent in it, but she didn’t go on cnn denying any wrong doing.

“I made not mistakes.” Give me a break. Every parent makes mistakes raising their children. His mistake was that he was abusive. He is not deserving of those grandkids and I pray those kids are reared by someone other than him.

I believe michael,and really wish that he was alive.He wasn’t really appreciated while he was alive.He was kind, humble and had a big heart,which is what a lot of entertainers today lack.It is sad.We have lost a rare gem.I love you michael,and i know that the only person that loves you more than i do is your biggest fan, my twin brother.

I am only 15 years old and i think that Joe Jackson is a horrible person why would you deny everything on national television when you know fans are watching.
I am the biggest MJ fan ever an i know that Michael was never a big fan of Joe it was obvious as a child he wanted Berry Gordan as his father an he was the closest to Diana Ross.
He didnt even have Joe on the will of his death its true enough that he didnt want him in his life so Joe was stupid to lie and he knows that already..
