Great author, love her work! http://www.datingsportsfans.com/
I am not a huge fan, though I enjoy the Potter movies. But I did find this documentary to be excellent. It was great to see someone so extraordinarily famous (especially at home in England) to have both her feet firmly planted on the ground (even if those feet are in Blahnik shoes).
it – the success, the accolades, the financial stability, the global adoration – couldn’t have happened to a better author.
long live JKR
I thought it was an excellent docu. especially as a fan. However I was quite bothered by what ABC did with it, just kind of interjecting their reporter, who slowly strolled down steps introducing each different piece of the film. Although, maybe it was necessary because so much time has passed since the original.
I particularly enjoyed when she began reading the book at it’s release party ( I cried, just as I did when I read it for the first time) and the series of rapid fire questions asked by the filmmaker, mostly because of her equally quick and shrewd responses.
Bravo
[...] PS: J.K. Rowling: A Year in the Life is a documentary put together by James Runcie, a novelist/filmmaker. There’s an article about the documentary here. [...]
Harry Potter has taken over almost all of my life, and I have no objections to that. HARRY POTTER ROCKS!!!! This special made me cry, when she was talking about her mother. I just burst out sobbing.
If they ever make a movie about JKR’s life, Cate Blanchett should definitely play her.
Articles like this make life so much smilper.
